SUMMARY:

This position involves assisting with 3D modeling, product documentation, and technical writing across various product lines. The role requires a strong command of SolidWorks, configuration control, and documentation conventions. The individual must be self-motivated and able to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment, enjoying a high degree of autonomy and independence.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Maintain a thorough understanding of the documentation system and configuration control, serving as a resource for others.Create new product configurations as required by Sales, requiring a working knowledge of model numbering schemes.Create and/or modify product documentation, including outline, assembly, and detail drawings; bills of material; sourcing documents; and process instructions. Must understand mechanical drawing conventions, tolerances, and GD&T.Collaborate with engineers to produce 3D models and other concept documentation to aid in the development process, requiring proficiency in SolidWorks.Perform design analyses such as tolerance stack-ups, mechanical fit, and design for manufacturability.Maintain the laser automation configuration for all applicable products.Process ECOs and general documentation updates for all departments as needed.Interface with other facets of the organization to ensure effective cooperation and optimal productivity.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:Associate's degree (AS) in Engineering Technology, Drafting & Design, or a related field from an accredited college or university, plus three years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Proficiency in SolidWorks, Microsoft Office, and AutoCAD.
