Primary ResponsibilitiesHDR's Architectural/Design Coordinator will take responsibility for work in all phases of the architectural process. Duties include: evaluating, selecting and applying architectural techniques, procedures and modifications to architectural construction documents including developing schematic designs and plans with responsibility for the preparation of technical architectural drawings, presentation materials, narratives, and 3D modeling and architectural visualization and coordinating work with other individuals who provide services for the systems and elements that support and relate to the architectural environment; performing architectural assignments with only general instruction from the Project Architect or Project Manager regarding the expected results; working directly with clients to select and recommend procedures, including participating with owners/clients in schematic and design development level of document creation to develop architectural solutions commensurate with client's culture and needs, as well as consistent with requirements of technology, integration, efficiency, safety, and cost effectiveness; demonstrating knowledge of procedures for production of design and construction documents, and knowledge of engineering planning, drafting, and detailing; developing, leading, and managing building information models and processes, including coordination with other disciplines; preparing detailed drawings, layouts, sketches, maps, and graphic representations of architecture designs by hand or using computer-aided design software; writing specifications covering architectural matters; performing technical, code, and compliance reviews; collaborating with the architectural team to coordinate work effectively with other disciplines such as interiors, structural, mechanical, electrical, civil, landscape, and fire and life safety; and assisting Design Principals, Project Architects, and other Design Coordinators or Technicians as needed.Required Qualifications•A Master's Degree in Architecture or a closely related field and 3 years of experience in architecture, or a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or a closely related field and 5 years of experience in architecture.•Required experience may be professional or internship experience and must include experience in: architecture in the civic, transportation, or technology sectors; sustainable design; preparing details, specifications, and construction documents; Autodesk Revit and related tools and processes; graphic presentation; 3D Studio-Max, Rhino, or SketchUp; Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator); and parametric design and tools, including Grasshopper.•All HDR positions in the US may be subject to background checks and/or pre-employment drug testing.Compensation: We provide a comprehensive benefits package that promotes employee ownership, employee health, performance, and success, which includes medical, dental, vision, short and long-term disability, life insurance, an employee assistance program, paid time away, parental leave, paid holidays, a retirement savings plan with employer match, employee referral bonus and tuition reimbursement.
