The role

Our Comms priority is to make our company better known, understood, and respected by stakeholders everywhere and help build Diageo LAC's reputation across the region and globe. To do this we need to bring our people, our brands, and our performance to life in an engaging way at the right time, across the right channels.

The Comms head plays a key role in supporting industry campaigning and promoting positive drinking being a key part of the team.

Accountabilities & Capabilities

The role is a coordinated one that delivers employee and external communications, proactively leads reputation, and develops content in line with the communications strategy.

Act as a regional champion for Diageo LAC internally and externally, by building and raising Diageo’s profile and leadership on key issues across multiple markets.

The Corporate Relations (CR) team’s role is to protect and promote Diageo’s reputation and license to operate, in service of becoming the most trusted and respected consumer goods company. The Comms Head is an integral part of it and will work to transform the driven environment within which we operate, unlocking value by:

Driving a consistent, multifaceted, global narrative.

Ensure that you're a trusted partner with all team members in addressing society’s concerns about alcohol misuse and the entire CSR agenda.

Providing senior expertise and counsel, as well as analytics and intelligence to our business leaders.

Advising our leaders on how to engage and encourage our people.

Anticipating and mitigating risks.

This role will also lead some of the Miami-based, LAC-focused collaborators in partnership with the regional team.

Experience Required

Passion for celebration.

Speak English and Spanish (Portuguese could be a plus).

Degree or equivalent experience in Communications, Public Relations, or related fields.

Extensive experience in a corporate communications role in multinational, large organizations, or agencies, preferably having overseen Latin America.

Strong interpersonal and relationship skills.

Flexibility and hands on.

Media and crisis management experience, executive communications.

Ability to work and influence across cultures; and achieve results through others.

Track record of running communications campaigns and strong project management skills.

Leadership and ability to work in a matrix structure and effectively lead internal and external team members. This professional will work alongside the global teams deploying strategy and the markets that comprise the region.

Experience working in emerging markets and complex environments.

Ability to think strategically, with experience of team member engagement and industry partnership.

Excellent verbal, written, networking and influencing skills; and attention to detail.

Maximum Salary:
