The American Hospital Association (AHA) is a national organization that represents and serves all types of hospitals, health care networks, and their patients and communities. The AHA has two main offices, located in Washington, D.C. and Chicago. We are currently seeking an Instructional Designer, ASHE for our downtown Chicago office. This position is a hybrid role (three days in the office, two days working remote).

Please make sure you read the following details carefully before making any applications.Starting base salary = $66,000 – $83,000 (commensurate with related experience).The Instructional Designer is responsible for the development, finalization, and maintenance of multimedia educational content at ASHE, working in collaboration with the Senior Instructional Designer. These educational programs enable ASHE members to acquire knowledge and skills related to the areas of health care facility operations, regulatory compliance, planning, design, construction, and certifications. This position collaborates with team members and subject matter experts on the development of a variety of multimedia education products to support all learning modalities. The Instructional Designer also collaborates with the product distribution team to help deliver products into the marketplace.Develops and creates multimedia content to integrate into education and publication products. Drafts, edits, and creates multimedia content (alpha/beta/gold versions) with iterative development, then finalizes content by incorporating feedback from subject matter experts and staff reviews, user testing, and internal content manager edits.Assembles, develops, and utilizes multiple formats, including print, audio, infographics, videos, multimedia, and online courses as appropriate for the target audience or content.Coordinates with Senior Instructional Designer and Senior Education Specialist, Programs to ensure effective distribution.Maintains, reconfigures, and updates existing educational programs to ensure they are relevant, up-to-date, and meet the educational needs of an ever-changing field. Manages the updates of these programs using new or more effective modalities.Evaluates the results of educational programs and modifies future programs to meet educational goals. Measures learner engagement through the utilization of data analytics.Supports curriculum management and user support of Learning Management System, including authoring and troubleshooting.Coordinates with product teams to enhance visibility and professionalism of the education products, publications, and content.Documents and inventories assets, tools, images, video, and final products.Keeps abreast of content development trends, technologies, and best practices.Supports education and publications staff as needed and performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.We offer an excellent total compensation package, which includes medical/dental coverage (PPO/HMO), vision care, life insurance, short and long-term disability plans, 401(k), tuition reimbursement, paid vacation/holidays/sick days, wellness programs, and more!The American Hospital Association (AHA) is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Bachelors or better in Instructional Design and Technology or related field.Experience Required

Min 3 years' experience with multimedia design that supports the development of adult education programs including virtual, in-person, online, and on-demand courses. Must demonstrate experience working with multimedia authoring/production tools: Adobe Creative Cloud, Articulate Storyline & Rise, MS products. Experience with video production, graphic design, eLearning course production, or similar. Experience working with Learning Management Systems, user support, and program management.
