The appropriate candidate will be proactive, self-motivated, and will have the capability to work efficiently within a collaborative studio. This is an advanced position at HansonLA and requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced, demanding professional environment and can fulfill leadership roles on projects. Our interiors projects range in size from 10,000 to 80,000 square feet and include renovations, expansions, and new construction. Experience in design, production, and construction is a huge plus.ResponsibilitiesExperience and proficiency in all phases of design projects from conception to completionManage client interactions and effectively guide the client through the design processEnsure the accuracy of code compliance and design intent for all plansEffectively manage project hours and costs for each phase of a projectTakes initiative on strategic issues including design direction and providing quality managementDevelop and coordinate detailed design concepts with ability to develop functional requirements and project-design criteriaDemonstrate advanced understanding and experience in the application of planning, programming, and design principles and methodsProvide coaching and mentorship to support the professional development of junior staffExcellent communication, interpersonal and time management skillsAll team members are expected to contribute to the positive, inclusive organizational culture at HansonLA. We value professional curiosity, proactive professional growth, and holding oneself and team accountable to assure project success.RequirementsBachelor of Architecture, Master’s in Architecture, or Bachelor of Interior Design7-10 years’ experience in design and productionAbility to think and draw in 3DStrong competency in interior design specifications, calculations, and industry standards, and application of building codes and specificationsProficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and Adobe Creative Suite ProgramsStrong ability to think critically about planning, design, materials, budgets, and schedulesUnderstanding of materials and their appropriate application and costs, construction methods, detailing, and MEP conceptsExperience directing or managing junior staffStrong graphic and presentation skillsMust be detail-oriented and highly organizedLEED certified is a plusHospitality Project experience is a plus
