Responsibilities:Will handle making corrections to reprints, preparing jacket mechanicals, and formatting files for productionCreating layouts and designs for original hardcover books and converting hardcover novels to paperbackPresenting designs to art directors and editors for review and feedbackWorks collaboratively with all members of the teamMaintains and strictly adheres to production schedules.Assists the design staff as neededWorks with other in-house departments to ensure requests are met in a timely and effective manner.Requirements:3+ years book design experienceProven talent in creating innovative book design, application of typography, layout, color.Solid computer design skills: proficient in Adobe Creative SuiteAbility to juggle many projects simultaneouslyStrong written and oral communication styles; ability to present design ideasFamiliarity with print productionMust HavesMacOS proficient,Enthusiastic, optimistic, able to interact well with others, team player and well rounded.Proficient in Adobe, Photoshop., InDesign,Ability to take direction and communicate well both verbal & written, keep track of projects, detailed and very organized.
