Digital Content Marketing Specialist, Outdoor California

Do you get inspired to create and tell stories in new ways? The primary project for this marketing specialist position is serving as the editor and chief digital content creator for CDFW's Outdoor California brand, one of the Department's oldest print publications and leading the strategic digital reimagining of the brand. This position requires a deep understanding of technical marketing skills, including data analysis, audience segmentation, brand development, UX design, audiovisual creating and editing and expert use of the Adobe Suite. Incumbent must have excellent writing, editing and

storytelling skills and understand the appropriateness of marketing approaches across a variety of platforms and marketing strategies. This position collaborates with various CDFW staff and programs, external partners, other agencies, and incorporate Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion into content creation, storytelling and marketing techniques. The incumbent is also responsible for directing a variety of smaller concurrent projects, including increasing sales of the Warden Stamp, contributions to the various voluntary tax campaigns and increasing awareness and relevancy of CDFW initiatives.

Working ConditionsWork with staff statewide and external partners to complete work assignments.Ability to use a computer most of the day.Involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.Attend meetings both virtually and in-person.Occasional travel is required within the state of California via private or public transportation (i.e., automobile, airplane, personal vehicle, etc.). Travel may include overnight stay dependent upon departmental need, occasional weekends, and/or non-traditional work hours may be required.

Special RequirementsUtilize different communication tactics and UX skills to reach diverse audiences across various technology platforms. Ability to observe and correct errors in writing, photos, video, audio, graphics and other digital content types. Ability to see color, utilize a computer and drive a mouse with precision.
