This position will be responsible for implementing our quality assurance processes and for developing designers and junior project managers. This position operates with a level of autonomy that requires discipline, integrity, excellent communication, and above all, a commitment to Able City’s shared value proposition.ResponsibilitiesProvides support and direction to less experienced project managersAssign work to professional staff and ensures appropriate training is providedEvaluates operations and activities of assigned responsibilitiesUsually is tasked with the management of a limited number of projectsPrepares reports on operations and activities, recommending improvements and modificationsParticipates in budget preparation and administration, monitors and controls expendituresSkillsMust be innovative, detail-orientedCapable of managing multiple, high-priority assignmentsStrong interpersonal skills to develop good working relationships at various levels and to resolve complaintsAbility to provide effective supervision and staff managementAbility to provide effective resource management in an environment with multiple projects with differing staffing needs and timelinesKnowledgeThorough knowledge of local government policies and proceduresExpertise in building codesThorough understanding of architectural production best practicesPassionate about affecting change at the local level; committed to empowering citizens — especially those who have been historically marginalized by the planning process — to steer and shape their city’s futureAbility to work with a diverse teamDetail-oriented and technical, yet experienced enough to see the big pictureFlexible and able to adapt to rapidly changing project requirements and deadlinesConfident facilitating in-person and virtual public participation activitiesRequirementsProfessionally accredited Bachelors and/or Master’s in ArchitectureLicensed ArchitectAbility to travel from time to timeUS citizen or US resident with permission to work in the USApplicant Skill: Detail Oriented
