The Massachusetts Office of Travel & Tourism is committed to ensuring a diverse and inclusive workplace where all employees feel respected, valued, and empowered to maximize their skills and talents to serve our citizens. _About the Role:_ Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Marketing will manage, evaluate and develop domestic and international tourism industry programs to increase travel and tourism to Massachusetts. These programs will include managing MOTT’s marketing efforts as they pertain to group tour, meetings and events, and cruise. _Duties and Responsibilites:_ (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive): * Develop, implement, and oversee strategy to increase group tour, student, meetings and events, reunion, and cruise travel to Massachusetts. * Work with the MOTT team to develop relevant marketing content that promotes travel to Massachusetts to industry segments and affinity groups. * Manage and escort familiarization tours for domestic and international travel industry professionals. * Represent the Office of Travel and Tourism at trade and industry shows, conferences, and events. * Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders across the Commonwealth including Agencies within the Commonwealth, Regional Tourism Councils, and private businesses. * While primarily focused on domestic tourism, the director of marketing will also contribute to strategic initiatives for Massachusetts 250 and international marketing. * Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:* * 5 years of destination marketing experience. * Knowledge of the travel and tourism industry. * Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and competing deadlines. * Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, along with excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. * Ability to travel for trade shows. * Knowledge of Microsoft suite platforms (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). _ All applicants should attach a cover letter and resume to their online submission for this position._ MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have at least (A) five (4) years of full-time or, equivalent part-time, professional, professional internship, administrative, supervisory, or managerial experience in business administration, business management, public administration, public management, clinical administration or clinical management or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and substitutions below. Substitutions: I. A certificate in a relevant or related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience. II. An Associate's degree in a related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience. III. A Bachelor's degree in a related field may be substituted for two (2) years of the required experience. IV. A Graduate degree in a related field may be substituted for three (3) years of the required experience. V.
