The Comms Team is responsible for conveying Snap’s mission, vision, and values to core audiences within our community, which include Snapchatters, advertising partners, content partners, investors, policymakers, and Snap team members.

We’re looking for a Director to lead our policy communications team.

What you’ll do:

Lead all policy and related communications strategies to shape and protect the reputation of Snap among key stakeholders, including policymakers, safety advocates, and more.

Run a US-based policy communications team across LA, DC, and NY, and guide our non-US comms team members to ensure alignment with the global strategy and desired outcomes.

Develop and drive meaningful public affairs campaigns that support Snap’s business goals.

Support Snap’s policy team to educate and advance Snap’s position on emerging and established policies and government regulations.

Partner closely with leaders across Snap’s policy, legal, platform safety, platform integrity, and other teams to drive positive impact for the business, our partners, and Snapchatters.

Lead our rapid response program to ensure media and other thought leaders have access to accurate and timely information.

Manage high volume, fast-paced litigation environments in collaboration with Snap’s legal team.

Collaborate with a close-knit global communications team to support our communications priorities.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Strong command of the media, policy, and cultural landscape, with experience working with senior stakeholders.

Deep knowledge of tech policy issues, with in-house experience, preferably at a publicly traded company.

Intellectual curiosity and a willingness to experiment in order to learn and identify creative solutions.

Strong leadership skills.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and independently manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.

Ability to build strong working relationships cross-functionally and across different time zones.

Ability to balance critical thinking with tactical execution and attention to detail.

Excellent news judgment, as well as exceptional writing and communications skills.

Able to serve as a Snap spokesperson as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

BS/BA degree or equivalent years of experience.

10+ years of experience in communications or public relations.

Compensation:

The base salary range for this position varies by location, with starting pay determined based on skills, experience, qualifications, and market conditions. This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.

Zone A (CA, WA, NYC):

$244,000-$366,000 annually.

Zone B:

$232,000-$348,000 annually.

Zone C:

$208,000-$311,000 annually.
