Learn more about the general tasks related to this opportunity below, as well as required skills.The Grand Central Publishing Group seeks a consumer-focused, innovative, and experienced VP or Executive Director of Marketing (level depending on experience), to lead, inspire, and oversee a dynamic team of approximately ten marketers in the development of all aspects of marketing strategy for approximately 150 original titles per year, spanning a broad range of categories from bestselling fiction franchises to debut novels to narrative and practical nonfiction. The successful candidate brings a business owner's mentality to their work and is prepared to harness and further develop the power of GCPG’s marketing team to drive sales results to meet financial goals; collaborate with key stakeholders across group imprints and stakeholders in Editorial, Publicity, Art, Sales, and HBG Central Marketing; and to interface with parallel divisions across Hachette Book Group and Hachette UK, all in service of our goal to sustain best-in-class marketing results across the Grand Central Publishing Group.The position is based out of our NY office on a two-day hybrid model. Please apply with a cover letter and resume.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage and guide a diverse team of approximately ten marketers ranging from early career to experienced publishing professionals.Develop and oversee marketing strategy across multiple imprints and create, execute, and direct title-by-title marketing campaigns, including advertising plans, for books and authors across virtually all adult trade publishing categories.Collaborate closely with Publicity and work with key stakeholders (Editorial, Sales, Art, and HBG Central Marketing) to develop integrated strategies for each title, driving sales results and audience development.Communicate directly with authors and agents to present, refine, and execute marketing plans.Work with authors to develop and maximize their platforms including increasing social media platforms and working collaboratively to build author brands.Actively participate in and lead weekly and seasonal internal marketing meetings, as well as meetings with authors, agents, and sales, and drive business in collaboration with Deputy Publisher, other functional leads, and imprint Publishers.Incorporate insights and data about diverse consumer audiences for each category that GCPG publishes and develop methods to reach those audiences through advertising, promotion, and social media.Investigate and introduce new platforms and marketing methods as they arise and evolve.Manage promotional plans and budgets for each title campaign.Develop programs for direct-to-consumer outreach in core publishing categories in concert with Hachette’s central marketing team.Pitch organizations, VIPs, social media influencers, and other partners for cross-promotional opportunities for single titles, imprints, and publishing programs as appropriate.Requirements:KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:Minimum 10+ years of progressive book marketing management experience with demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.Strong creative vision and brand building experience across multiple fiction and/or nonfiction categories.Proven ability to create strong integrated campaigns, including traditional as well as paid social, programmatic, and search advertising strategies.Analytical skillset to optimize campaigns for ROI and develop audience insights and targeting strategies that reach existing fans while simultaneously expanding the audience.Ability to conceive unique marketing campaigns and successfully execute consumer-facing campaigns. Examples required.Broad expertise in leading and emerging marketing practices in both publishing and adjacent industries and ability to share best practices across the imprint.Results-oriented, motivated, resourceful, hungry to learn, & demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in team- and author-facing settings.How to Apply:
