Apply below after reading through all the details and supporting information regarding this job opportunity.The Social Market Foundation, Britain’s leading cross-party thinktank, is looking for an experienced and motivated Strategic Communications expert to join our team on a temporary basis.The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing a comprehensive communication plan that aligns with our organizational mission and goals. The role will also include analysing and designing a plan for wider aspects of our impact, including public affairs engagement and social media communications. We currently have a small comms team (1.5 FTE) and the successful applicant will be expected to contribute alongside them.The role will report directly to the SMF Director. This would be a three-month contract at £50,000-£55,000 on a pro-rata basis. There is the possibility of a permanent role, depending on the outcome of the review.The SMF are also prepared to consider the role on a part-time or shared basis.Responsibilities:Collaborate with senior management to define strategic communication objectives and design a forward-looking strategic communications plan, including social media, traditional media, and public affairs, with recommendations on resourcing and hiring.Design and implement a communications plan for party conferences and the Budget.Provide advice and coaching to the team.Application processInterested candidates should submit their resume with a cover letter to director@smf.co.uk by Midday on Friday 9 th August.Applicants are also asked to download, complete and return an equality and diversity monitoring form.
