Position SummaryThe

Special Events & Marketing Coordinator

will be responsible for developing and promoting the facility’s events, including but not limited to venue rentals, concerts, conventions, shows and in-house events. This role demands creativity in developing marketing campaigns that elevate community awareness and engagement. This individual will collaborate with the Facility Director to assist, supervise, and coordinate all the activities related to marketing the venue and reach budget goals, while assisting in generating revenue for the facility. They will assist in graphic design, advertising, interactive media, promotions, public relations, and grassroots efforts for events as assigned. This position will also occasionally serve as Supervisor on Duty for other events at the facility.

This role will pay a hourly rate of $18 to $22.

About the VenueThe Nampa Civic Center is a large conference & meeting center with the ability to host banquets, weddings, conferences, conventions, tradeshows, and other events. Second, a 640 seat theater is attached to the conference center that frequently hosts concerts, theatrical performances, and sporting events.

ResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

(Including in house events and marketing, but not limited to ... ):

Develop and maintain relationships with promoters, event producers, sub-contractors, tenants and clients including creating and executing applicable letter of agreements.

Assist in day-of-event operations associated with events.

Responsible for planning, coordinating, and facilitating the logistics of assigned events; act as liaison for building with all parties and departments involved in the event.

Provide management of in-house events in accordance with venue policies and procedures, including overseeing event logistics, settlements, managing event budget and post event financial summary, and customer service to ensure event success and client satisfaction.

Serve as a facility representative at assigned events by enforcing facility policies and procedures; identify and resolve public and event-related complaints in a professional manner ensuring customer satisfaction.

Assist day-to-day promotions and in-house event activities.

Assist in preparation of monthly corporate marketing reports and participate in monthly conference calls with other Oak View Group entities.

Assist the venue with day-to-day digital and print marketing program. This includes but is not limited to social media platforms, website, advertising, radio, television, local media opportunities, and marketing requirements from promoters and artists.

Assist with public relations, including managing the creation and distribution of press releases, maintaining positive media relations, and coordinating media requests and interviews.

Assist with all grassroots efforts including poster & flyer distribution, community appearances and overall expansion of marketing campaigns to maximize event awareness and exposure.

Generate new and creative ideas to attract new events/self-created events and to promote events when booked.

Assist with database and email campaigns.

Develop new marketing programs and initiatives to maximize ticket sales, such as third-party partnerships, and new media avenues.

Explore non-traditional marketing opportunities for the facility and its events.

Perform graphic design using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effect and Premiere, etc

Facilitate effective communication and working relationships across departments and with external partners such as media, clients, promoters, municipal officials, and entertainment agencies to ensure cooperative relationships and campaign success.

Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college/university with major coursework in event management, facility management, sports management, hospitality management, business administration, marketing, public relations, communications, or related field required.

Knowledge & interest in marketing and advertising functions

Intermediate knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, etc.)

Strong analytical, problem solving, and written communication skills.

Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple projects.

Possess excellent people skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with the general public, staff, and co-workers in a positive, professional manner.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Creative Suites.

Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, days, evenings, weekends, holidays, extended (long) workdays with extended number of days.
