Proposal Writer (VA/VHA) - REMOTE

Tallon is recruiting for a Proposal Writer to work directly with one of our clients. Qualified candidates must have prior experience supporting IDIQ contracts and fast turnaround responses for Department of Veterans Affairs and Veterans Health Administration (VA/VHA) proposals.
Location: The client is Wash DC based; the position can work remotely from a U.S. based location.
Role and responsibilities include:
Support full lifecycle for federal government proposals with a focus on Veterans Health
Research, analyze, and thoroughly understand client requirements and RFP/RFI documents
Utilize a variety of information gathering techniques, such as interview sessions, to gather necessary technical information from subject matter experts and technical teams for inclusion in the proposal
Translate technical input received for subject matter experts and technical teams into easily digestible reading materials
Write, edit, and format proposal sections to ensure clarity, accuracy, and alignment with all applicable guidelines
Create persuasive content that highlights the company's strengths, capabilities, and solutions to address client needs
Ensure compliance with federal RFP requirements, including formatting, content structure, and page limitations
Work on several proposals simultaneously, adhering to deadlines, and ensuring proposal submission requirements are met
Review and refine proposal templates, boilerplate content, and case studies for use in future proposals
Requirements include:
U.S. Citizenship
Current VA Suitability security access or eligibility to obtain security credentials (Public Trust level)
Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Business, or related field
3+ years of related experience supporting proposal writing and proposal management activities for federal government IDIQ proposals
Experience writing compliant proposals for Department of Veterans Affairs and Veterans Health Administration (VHA)
Experience with Veterans Health Administration Integrated Healthcare Transformation (VHA IHT) IDIQ is preferred
Experience supporting IDIQ proposals and managing quick turnaround response times
Experience with Shipley Proposal Process and demonstrated experience following Shipley approach including color team reviews
APMP certification is a plus
Experience/understanding with Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) / Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) program application process is preferred
Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills
Excellent time management skills and ability to organize workload to meet multiple deadlines
Proficiency working across MS Office Suite
Availability to support business travel, if needed
