Salary offers will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, skills, training and education.The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), the nation’s most effective animal advocacy organization, is seeking a Senior Graphic Designer for the Brand and Visuals department. In this position you will conceptualize and design print and digital creative for marketing and fundraising visual communications for print and digital channels and other projects for the HSUS and affiliates. You will serve as lead designer on specific projects and coordinate with Art Directors and Designers to maintain project schedules to meet all assigned deadlines. You will also communicate with programs and staff across the organization.Responsibilities:Works independently to conceptualize and design print and digital creative for marketing and fundraising communications, and other projects for the HSUS and affiliates. Serves as lead designer on specific projects;Efficiently facilitates communication between Communications and Brand, Marketing, and programs using Jira, Confluence and by email;Coordinates with Art Directors, Graphic Designers and Senior Production Coordinator to create and maintain project schedules to meet all assigned deadlines;Preflights projects to ensure they meet project specifications and vendor requirements;Promotes internal brand awareness through staff education, brown bag presentations and direct meetings with programs. Engages and inspires staff to apply the brand vision in their daily work. Assists staff in using branded templates;Provides feedback and direction to freelance designers in order to maintain high quality design and brand standards. Collaborates, critiques and brainstorms with the Brand and Visuals team on strategy for design and branding across all channels;Performs other duties or responsibilities, as assigned.Qualifications and Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or a related field, or equivalent work experience required;A minimum of four (4) years of graphic design experience or other related experience required;High-quality design knowledge including the use of sophisticated typography treatments and compelling layout composition. Expert understanding of design principles, color balance, and visual weight;Clear understanding of brand standards and management. The ability to oversee and evolve brands as organizational goals evolve;Keen eye for the selection of imagery that is in line with our organizational goals and brand standards. Experience with photography color correction;Excellent creative thinking skills with the ability to continuously innovate;Knowledge of marketing strategies (traditional and digital) and market research methods;Expert knowledge of the newest design and production software, techniques, and current trends. Experience working in a Macintosh environment with excellent technical knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office. Understanding of print production and printing processes required;Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines; high energy, self-motivated and proactive;Ability to multitask and be flexible with regard to workload and assignments;Ability to exercise judgment;Strong written and verbal communication skills;Attention to detail and commitment to excellence demonstrated by the delivery of quality and timely outcomes;Ability to work both independently and as an effective team member in a team environment;Strong interest in animal protection issues preferred.This
