Reporting to the Sr. Director of Strategic Business Development (SBD) Marketing, the SBD Marketing Manager is responsible for working collaboratively within the corporate marketing organization and across CertainTeed business units to lead integrated marketing plans that support strategic business development at Certainteed. The role will also assist with successful brand integrations from acquisitions as well as support strategic partnership activation. The SBD Marketing Manager will partner with corporate marketing counterparts to ensure implementation of campaigns and initiatives on time and according to objectives.

The SBD Marketing Manager is responsible for leading the development and execution of integrated marketing campaign tactics across paid, earned, shared, and owned media, along with other marketing and customer engagement tools to drive demand generation and retention. The ideal candidate will be team-oriented by nature and capable of engaging and leveraging functional counterparts and resources, have a proven track record of project management, which includes understanding milestones, navigating dependencies, and taking initiative to complete projects. Success will be defined by the flawless management and execution of strategic marketing initiatives, which include customer-focused brand and product marketing plans, and strategic brand and partnership development that contributes to top-line and bottom-line growth objectives.

As an insightful storyteller, the SBD Marketing Manager, develops relevant and meaningful marketing and brand messaging. A key success factor will involve understanding the unique purchase journey for segments, addressing pain points, and enhancing those elements that drives our customers to specify and/or buy CertainTeed products and solutions. The individual in the role must acquire good working knowledge of all relevant businesses, products, solutions, and value propositions within the CertainTeed portfolio.

This person is responsible for the management of integrated marketing campaigns to support the growth of strategic businesses, focusing on but not limited to Solar roofing solutions, and managing brand integrations and strategic partnerships that will drive business success.

Develop integrated marketing plans and campaigns for SBD businesses with a focus on, but not limited to Solar roofing solutions based on annual product marketing objectives and strategic marketing approach

Author marketing and creative briefs that provide relevant and important initiative background, insights and objectives that result in easy comprehension and successful campaigns

Manage brand and marketing integration of strategic acquisitions and partnerships

Create strategic rationale on multimedia content needs, and manage development, implementation, and assets management

Engage with Customer Experience team on VOC insights and survey needs based on segment analysis and initiative dynamics

Manage brand and product destinations including brand webpages, as well as distributor signage and digital programs

Brief and direct agency partners and team of contractor resources (as business needs require) to achieve optimal results. Manage execution of contracted services from external vendors for public relations and trade advertising.

Activate best-in-category campaigns deploying mix of Paid, Earned, Shared and Owned Media, including:

Paid – oversee media mix planning and coordinate with internal and external partners for media buying, including (ads, newsletters, etc.), print, events, sponsorships with trade and publisher media, as well as relevant associations. Coordinate with internal SEM team to develop and manage paid Search strategy.

Earned – manage public relations with agency/consultant, identify and arrange subject matter expert interviews, product and executive profiles, influencer engagement, product placements (coordinating product sourcing), and other product/solution features

Shared – coordinate with internal, centralized social media team to integrate and extend initiative reach through organic posts and paid social activation

Owned – partner centralized website management team to optimize website presence (SEO), branded microsites, branded email, company-sponsored and/or cross-BU loyalty programs/events, and branded product promotions.

Leverage marketing technology, business building tools, training and end user selling and marketing best practices, along with loyalty and customer rewards programs to drive affinity/sales

Utilize analytical tools for campaign assessment, as well as development of metrics and key indicators for marketing effectiveness, and brand awareness/reputation.

Utilize digital tools and project management platforms (Monday.com) to maintain regular communication on progress, timelines, and deliverables to ensure stakeholder satisfaction throughout the planning and execution of projects.

Develop success metrics and KPIs to measure performance, analyze results, and regular reporting to track campaign effectiveness and return on investment, as well as related brand building metrics (e.g., brand awareness, loyalty)

Utilize digital analytical tools for campaign assessment and performance.

Manage annual marketing budget and billing, oversee monthly spend tracking and reconcile with finance.

Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in the required field

7+ years of progressive marketing experience with demonstrated success in building brands, customer insight gathering, and implementing comprehensive integrated marketing strategies and plans for large organizations. Experience in the building products or durables preferred

Demonstrated success developing and working with digital, social, web-based, and project management tools, including marketing automation

Exceptional verbal and written presentation skills including ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple manner

Demonstrated understanding and experience with B2B and B2C businesses, including retail

Able to collaborate effectively - works well with others and is considered a true team player who works to build strong relationships/partnerships

A self-starter with a sense of urgency, a strong work ethic, commitment to driving results, and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances in a highly collaborative environment; must have a creative approach to problem solving, and the ability to take advantage of emerging opportunities/changing priorities

Strong project and process management skills, including demonstrated ability to manage complex and long-range projects effectively, collaboratively, and on-time

Excellent analytical skills and ability to support data-driven decisions and manage metrics-based marketing communications performance
