JOB SUMMARY:

The Digital Marketing Strategist is a full stack digital marketing expert. This person will understand the complete marketing journey from prospect to advocate. This role is generally responsible for planning, developing, implementing and managing the overall digital marketing strategy for select Simpleview clients. Additionally, responsibilities of this role include serving the operational needs of assigned digital marketing projects while at the same time providing thought leadership and sales support including crafting of proposals, participating in onsite visits/presentations and more. The role requires leading the development of engagement strategies leveraging all digital channels, including PPC, SEO, display, distribution, mobile, CRO, email marketing and social. This person should be familiar with current key digital advertising platforms and have experience planning and executing data-driven marketing programs and campaigns for customers. The Digital Strategist may also be responsible for developing strategic marketing plans for clients. The role will partner extensively across internal teams to develop creative digital programs that deliver results.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Client

Gain deep understanding of client’s marketing goals and objectives to become a trusted advisor.

Build, develop, and deliver all manner of digital plans to help clients meet business objectives.

Leverage data to proactively help clients understand customer behavior, develop new customer insights, and drive new-targeted digital marketing opportunities and campaigns.

Lead the research, planning, and execution of client marketing campaigns that leverage the best online digital media and channels to use for the audience/marketing strategy.

Develop and communicate customer experience and engagement strategies that integrate appropriate digital media.

Present strategies and performance reports to clients, executives and board members as needed.

Grow the Business

Work with the VP of Strategy & Insights to recommend new opportunities that help SImpleview grow the business including growing media buying, paid social, optimization and attribution to expand our overall offering and capabilities.

Assist with the implementation of new services and revenue streams.

Develop client case studies and use cases as needed.

Work with the Customer Success team, and independently, to identify and close new business leads. Serve as an active participant in business development efforts, both within existing clients and for new client opportunities.

Support the new business team by providing recommendations for proposals. Assist with proposal development and pricing. Participate in new business pitches as needed.

Stay current with digital marketing trends. Digital Marketing is constantly changing – to stay at the top of our industry, the Digital Strategist must continually monitor current digital marketing trends, new technology solutions, and competitive strategies – and then translate those insights into new marketing ideas for clients.

Be responsible for thought leadership in the marketplace by contributing to the team’s efforts to develop content on digital marketing topics as an authority voice in the space.

Assist with The Layover podcast as well as editorial oversight for DM blog posts, case studies and other collateral.

Ability to regularly travel for onsite meetings and speak at industry events and conferences.

Departmental Excellence

Develop and implement processes to maximize efficiencies and improve the quality of Digital Marketing outputs.

Drive problem-solving processes with a broader team of consultants using both analytical and creative techniques to produce compelling results.

Act as a coach and mentor for less experienced team members. Provide work direction, guidance and ongoing feedback related to team performance and strategy. Manage, coach, and teach other team members around digital marketing strategy and how it can influence business and brand outcomes.

Position Requirements:

Experience

Experience as a marketing leader in an agency or client side environment managing clients or internal teams.

5+ years experience in digital marketing – including but not limited to email marketing, website analytics, search, social media, display, mobile, CRM.

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent desired. Experience in the Travel industry is preferred.

Proven experience developing trust among leadership teams (client and internal) on complex marketing projects and navigating it before, during and after strategic development and execution.

Ability to partner effectively with 3rd party agency clients and department leaders such as insights and analytics, planning, account and creative.

Proven experience using your digital marketing knowledge to drive growth and business performance across various media and channels.

Knowledge

Domain expertise of the web, social, display, ecommerce, mobile, SEO, email and the overall broad digital marketing landscape.

Experience or familiarity with technologies and best practices related to some or most of the following: Customer Lifetime Value, CRM, marketing/sales automation, Content Marketing, Lead Management/Lead Nurture, data driven marketing, Conversion Optimization and experience development.

Expertise with complex cross-channel strategies, including online marketing, websites, CRM, social media, and mobile is essential.

Ability to interpret primary and secondary research, and develop brand positioning, personas, customer journeys and communication planning.

Understanding and presenting data-driven marketing performance including: Google Analytics, media performance, attribution models, and big data techniques.

Experience translating data analysis into actionable marketing recommendations and presentations –

Proficiency in presenting and public speaking is required.

Hands-on skills using data to drive decisions – proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets is required
