Director of Administration and Strategic Initiatives – UC Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive (BAMPFA) The mission of the UC Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive (BAMPFA) is to inspire the imagination and ignite critical dialogue through art, film, and other forms of creative expression. Submit your CV and any additional required information after you have read this description by clicking on the application button.Responsibilities:Manage organizational strategy and advise the executive director of BAMPFA.Serve as Director of Administration and Strategic Initiatives and coordinate the activities of the Museum’s executive leadership team to achieve the Director’s strategic objectives.Lead long and short range planning for all operations and administration of BAMPFA.Determine and establish organizational structures and supervisory relationships for new programs and/or restructuring activities.Manage and implement cross-departmental strategic initiatives including DEAI, disability access, staff morale, and reaccreditation.Develop processes and criteria for the review of the museum’s financial plans.Provide guidance to leadership regarding funding, new venture development and other resource acquisitions.Manage, plan and administer administrative operations and/or general operations of BAMPFA.Manage staff, human resources, finance, information systems, space planning and facilities.Ensure that systems are in place and current to safeguard and secure assets and museum acts according to best practices.Make decisions on administrative or operational matters and ensure achievement of objectives (operational and budget processes, staff FTE, finance, human resources, IT and space planning) that have department-wide impact.Manage, develop and oversee all finance and budgets in consultation with Executive Director and Business Office Manager.Serve as Chief of Staff and coordinate the activities of the divisional leadership team to achieve the Director’s strategic objectives.Serve as key administrative officer for unit’s functional programs, oversee analysis and policy development for issues and processes.Develop, modify, and execute organization policies which affect immediate operations.Establish policies and procedures in all administrative areas listed above and recommend changes to policies which affect the museum.Interact with higher-level management on matters concerning several functional areas.Act as liaison to campus (both Berkeley and systemwide).Represent the museum at the campus and community level.Improve and maintain stakeholder relations in key communities on the Berkeley campus and beyond.Maintain integrity of an organizational department through hiring, management, and oversight of staff.Required Qualifications:Excellent ability to establish metrics for department and employee goals.Thorough knowledge of financial analysis and reporting techniques; human resources and risk management planning.Excellent skills to work collaboratively and act persuasively in sensitive situations; skills in conflict management techniques.Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively lead, motivate and influence others and to develop and maintain high standards of customer service.Thorough knowledge of common organization-specific and other computer application programs.Excellent project management skills, including the capability of managing capital projects.Very strong ability to quickly evaluate complex issues and identify multiple options for resolution.Excellent project management skills from inception to completion with cross-functional teams.Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to influence and persuade.Preferred Qualifications:Ability to build and sustain relationships with peer institutions and community leaders locally and internationally.Broad knowledge of DEIB best practices in museums.Education:

Bachelor’s degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.How to Apply:
