06-05-2024ABOUT UC SANTA CRUZUC Santa Cruz is a public university like no other in California, combining the experience of a small, liberal arts college with the depth and rigor of a major research university.DEPARTMENT OVERVIEWThe Film & Digital Media Department includes 19 faculty members, approximately 600 undergraduate students, and 50 graduate students.JOB SUMMARYUnder the general direction of the Film and Digital Media Department Manager; the Film and Digital Media Technical Director oversees the daily operation of the department's technical services, manages all Film and Digital Media (FDM) spaces and facilities, and provides direct supervision and backup to FDM Operations staff.APPOINTMENT INFORMATIONBudgeted Salary:

$80,300 - $85,000/annually. Salary commensurate with skills, qualifications and experience.Schedule Information:Full-time, FixedPercentage of Time: 100%, 40 Hours per WeekDays of the Week: Mon-FriShift Includes: DayJOB DUTIESTechnical/Production Unit ManagementFacilities, Space, and Project ManagementPersonnel Management/SupervisionBudgetary Management and Fiscal ControlMaintenance of SkillsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/trainingExperience in arts management such as a post-production or audio/video production facility, or the equivalent.Excellent organizational, record keeping, and time management skills sufficient to prioritize work and function independently under pressure of competing deadlines and frequent interruptions.Demonstrated knowledge and experience with a variety of electronic multimedia and audiovisual systems and camera equipment.Strong written and oral communication skills sufficient to disseminate information in an articulate and concise manner.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSGeneral knowledge of higher education policies, practices and procedures.University degree and/or technical certificate.SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENTSelected candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment criminal history background check.Ability to work long periods of time at a computer with or without accommodation.EEO/AAThe University of California is an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
