Primary Duties:

This position is responsible for the development and implementation of communications with our members, guests and event customers. This person must always promote a positive image of the facility, brand and members. They report to the General Manager/COO and work with all department managers. Responsibilities also include conducting periodic market research to provide information essential for revising current communication programs, which enhance the Club's competitiveness in the marketplace, as well as fiscal and operational analysis as appropriate. This position also includes as needed Event sales and support for guest and member functions.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Organization of public relations, and communications activities and materials including publications, digital and social media, membership data, club news and so forth.

Ensure articulation and consistency of Country Club of Winter Haven membership desired image, brand and position in market.

Ensure communication of image and position to all constituencies, both internal and external.

Act as Country Club of Winter Haven representative with the media, community and chamber of commerce.

Oversee, recommend and provide approval on the appearance of Country Club of Winter Haven print and electronic materials such as letterhead, use of logo, brochures, etc.

Leads projects as assigned, such as cause-related and special events.

Developing relationships and working with media outlets and other companies.

Consult with executive management to develop effective communication procedures and policies for various situations or crises

Draft press releases prior to or following club, member or organizational news.

Manage the company's or organization's social media communications.

Create and publish event flyers for all Club events.

Facilitate internal and external communications procedures to help with Club News, Employee communications and Event operations.

Help organize all details for groups, special events, banquets, etc. Manage communication between departments to help ensure coordination of guest needs and activities. Ensure that all related department managers, especially those with customer contact personnel, fully understand all pertinent details in order to maximize customer satisfaction.

Process all requests for group/special events to appropriate departments. Help prepare and maintain an outings calendar for the year. Develop and maintain a perpetual lead and/or client roster.

Be fully knowledgeable of golf shop merchandise, restaurant and bar menus and amenities in order to generate additional revenue through up-selling prior to and/or during outings/events, as needed.

Lead site tours, create promotional documents and sell special events.

Visible and present for major Member Events, to include a few weekends per year.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in journalism, marketing, business administration or public relations preferred or 5 years in related field

Minimum of 5 years work experience in marketing, communications, and/or public/guest relations with demonstrated success

Computer literacy in Microsoft Office programs, Facebook, Instagram, and database management

Possess strong oral and written communications skills

Ability to manage multiple projects at a time

Position Physical Requirements:

Must have the ability to:

Read and write (English)

Communicate verbally with staff members and/or customers

Give and/or follow verbal and written instructions

Perform mathematical calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages

Retrieve information from technical sources

Stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, bend and kneel for up to 5 hours at a time

Lift up to 40 lbs occasionally, 20 lbs frequently, and 10 lbs constantly

Working Conditions:

Work hours may include days and evenings on weekdays and weekends. Subject to inside and outside environmental conditions. May be exposed to inclement weather, potentially dangerous pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers, misdirected golf balls, sharp and rapid equipment movement. Injury may result as a result of exposure to the above if safety policies and practices are not properly followed at all times.

General office machines such as typewriters, personal computers, printers, copiers, fax machines, calculators, telephones, etc. VDT glare screen and wrist rest. Golf clubs, golf cars.
