The Role: Digital Marketing Manager

Organizational Impact

The Digital Marketing Manager develops, executes, and analyzes the results of digital marketing strategies for MarketPlace's B2B and B2C clients in the human and pet nutrition and wellness spaces. As a member of the Media Team, this position reports to the Media Director and collaborates with members of the brand strategy and creative teams to align digital strategies with overarching brand strategies. The Digital Marketing Manager will develop digital strategies that encompass the full user journey, as guided by the Media Director, to include Meta, Google Ads, LinkedIn, SEO, e-comm, email marketing, and/or emerging channels.

Accountabilities

Digital Strategy

Develop budgetary recommendations necessary for clients to achieve their goals within their respective markets and in consideration other marketing objectives

Develop digital strategies that encompass the full user journey, inclusive of awareness, engagement, lead generation, cultivation, and conversion activities, as guided by Media Director

Collaborate with the Media Director, brand strategists, creative directors, writers, developers, and other team members to understand client brand strategies

Lead dialogue about digital strategies with the internal team and clients, pitch digital projects, and participate in new business calls

Campaign Management & Optimization

Execute the tactical management of digital marketing campaigns, including bid recommendations, content coordination, budget management, and goal achievement

Track against key performance indicators and baselines, maintaining accountability for campaign performance from expectation-setting to end-of-campaign reporting

Utilize data-driven insights to identify opportunities to achieve goals more effectively

Benchmarks (platforms, categories, etc.)

Understand platform and category benchmarks in order to establish key performance indicators

Platform-specific knowledge (security, specs, etc.)

Maintain proficiency of the changing digital landscape and new tactics/channels, including AdWords, Meta Ads Manager, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, AdCenter, SEMrush, etc.

Define creative asset needs (writing, video, design, etc.), requirements, and best practices, and communicate them to team members

Digital vendor management (freelancers, influencers, etc.)

Establish and maintain relationships with digital vendors, including freelance and contract resources

Keys To Success

Strong promotional and technical background with a deep understanding of digital advertising and channels

Clear, concise written and verbal communication

Excels in a fast-paced team and deadline-oriented environment

Eager to understand the industries we serve and the common audiences we speak to (B2B and B2C) to identify motivators and behaviors, and apply that knowledge to achieve campaign goals

Independently drives projects and processes forward

You

At least two years of professional experience developing digital strategies and tracking against key performance indicators at an advertising or media agency or similar working environment

Hands-on experience working with and/or a conversational knowledge of most of the following:

Meta

Google Ads

LinkedIn

Pinterest

Search Engine Optimization

Website strategy

Email Automation

Amazon Ads

Shopify (D2C)

TikTok

Over-the-top TV

Ability and skillset to develop an understanding of unfamiliar or emerging platforms
