We create an environment that fosters collaboration, creativity, and innovation.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time hybrid role as a Sales & Community Manager. As the Sales & Community Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies, managing client relationships, and promoting community engagement. You will also be involved in organizing events, fostering partnerships, and providing support to our members. While most of the work will be based in McLean, VA, or attending ecosystem events, there is flexibility for some remote work.We are a small and dynamic entrepreneurial team. This role reports directly to and collaborates with the CEO, liaises with the board of directors and develops deep relationships with our member companies and partners. The role is best suited to a fantastic relationship builder who naturally thrives collaborating, developing relationships and turning energy into impact.Key Responsibilities:Sales Management (50%):Identify and engage potential new members, including startups, small businesses, and freelancers, to join our coworking community.Conduct tours of the coworking space, highlighting the benefits and features that meet prospective members' needs.Develop and implement sales strategies to attract and retain high-quality members.Proactively conduct business development activities, including cold outreach, networking at industry events, and building strategic partnerships with local business communities.Build and nurture relationships with local business networks, organizations, and influencers to generate leads.Utilize CRM software to track leads, manage the sales pipeline, and maintain accurate records of sales activities and member interactions.Collaborate with the marketing team to create compelling promotional materials and campaigns.Events Management (50%):Plan, organize, and execute a diverse range of events, including workshops, networking events, panel discussions, and social gatherings.Develop and maintain relationships with event speakers, sponsors, and partners to enhance the quality and reach of our events.Collaborate with community members to understand their needs and interests, ensuring events are relevant and engaging.Manage event logistics, including venue setup, guest lists, marketing materials, and post-event follow-ups.Track event success metrics and gather feedback to continuously improve our event offerings.Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.QualificationsSales and Business Development skills, ideally in an incubator, accelerator, coworking or membership communityExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and connect with diverse audiencesExperience in community management and event planningStrong organizational and problem-solving skillsSelf-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently as well as part of a small, agile team.Passionate about entrepreneurship, startups, investor networks, and creating vibrant communities.Proficiency in CRM and project management toolsBachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field a plusWhat We Offer:Competitive salary and benefits package.Opportunities for professional growth and development.Flexibility and autonomy - perfect for someone with an entrepreneurial spirit.A collaborative and innovative work environment.Free parking.Access to exclusive events, workshops, and networking opportunities.The chance to make a meaningful impact in the startup ecosystem.Refraction does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, disability, or sex (including pregnancy, sexual orientation, and gender identity) not only to comply with applicable Federal civil rights laws but because there is incredible value in diversity.
