Midnight Oil (moagency.com) , strategically located in "the heart of Hollywood" in Burbank, CA, is an extraordinary creative, and specialty print production partner to the majority of theatrical and streaming studios, with relationships often measured in terms of decades, not years. We uniquely and conveniently combine our Studio and Print Production capabilities all under one roof in our 120,000 square feet facility, with an Amtrak stop and the Burbank Airport directly across the street. However, our “secret sauce” is simply our people … we have the best, most passionate, most capable team of 125 motivated employees who always delivers exceptional solutions to our clients as we aren't satisfied being anything short of the best. Position Summary:
The Production Artist provides support to the pre-media team by preparing files for internal and external manufacturing at the expected level of quality and create and maintain Esko AE workflows.
Work Location:
On-site at our Burbank, CA office.
Shift:
Monday-Friday, 2nd Shift, 4:00 PM - 12:30 AM
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Follow company Security Policy and asset management protocolFollow direction by way of production assembly ticket instructionsEntering and editing of production assembly ticket instructionsAdhere to job schedule and time keeping procedures.Preflight client filesTroubleshoot and problem solves file issues as they relate to desktop publishing and printing.Perform various upload and download tasks.Adhere to ongoing and established Quality Assurance procedures.Verification of assembled prepress files (dimensions, color, mechanical) and / or planning imposition layouts before moving files to the Production Floor or for uploads to other print vendorsSending PDF emails for job approvalsMaintain organizational structure of GF template library, not limited but including posting company spec sheetsSkills and Knowledge:
Diverse understanding of the graphic arts industry as it applies to pre-media, offset litho printing, large format digital printingUltimate client satisfaction mentality and approachExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProactive approach to identify and solve problems before they ariseAbility to work in a team environmentExceptional coordination and multitasking skillsAttention to detail with outstanding analytic skillsUnderstanding of general production workflowSelf-starter and innovative thinkerCommitment to continued learningHave a proficient understanding of Adobe Creative Cloud, Outlook, Word, ExcelPossess overall exceptional computer skillsMandatory Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (if applicable)Minimum 2 years professional prepress experience
The national pay range for this role is $30-$37/an hour. The pay range may be slightly lower or higher based on the geographic location. The actual pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.
