Position Summary:
The Director, Creative Design is responsible for leading a creative and graphics team to produce visually creative and impactful projects and displays. This may include providing creative direction, presentation creation and collaborating with teams both within Imagine Studio and across the organization. This director role fosters strategic design conversations, innovation, and cultivating enduring client relationships.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Elevate the design team in terms of innovation, creative solutions, motivating and challenging design teams to produce industry-leading work.
- Leads with a multidisciplinary approach to manage a vast array of client briefs, from interpreting and translating brand transformation strategies to executing marketing, environmental, and packaging solutions.
- Lead the graphic and visualization team in coordination with PMO on campaigns/projects timelines, budgets, and deliverables with minimal oversight.
- Own the overall look and feel of multiple one-off graphic design and retail brand projects or deliverables that will be integral to larger campaigns.
- Coach and mentor team and provide ongoing feedback to strengthen techniques, strategies, and client growth.
- Responsible for pitching creative ideas to key stakeholders.
- Proactively bring new ideas, creative concepts, and design solutions to client work.
- Partner with the Studio team’s Designers, Engineers, and Sourcing Manager to ensure client expectations around quality and delivery are met.
- Build trusted advisor relationships with sales and account teams to develop campaign deliverables to meet the design needs for current and prospective clients.
- Provide quality assurance of all creative deliverables and help lead the strategic development of the creative department as part of the wider company.
- Provide graphic design and production support when required.
- Consistently be a team player responsible for specific tasks outside of daily responsibilities.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Will supervise a team of creative and graphic designers.
Mandatory Qualifications:
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree in graphic, industrial design, or related field.
- 10+ years of work experience in the graphics design field required.
- 10+ years management experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with managing creative and or design teams.
- Preferred experience with 3D rendering/visualization software.
- Expert knowledge of design fundamentals, including graphic design, typography, photography, illustration.
- Expert in all necessary design applications including Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.
- Strong knowledge of motion software a plus.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Strong knowledge of print and marketing KPIs.
- Excellent sense of design.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Understanding of, or ability to learn, art and print methods that relate to the organization’s product and packaging needs.
- Creative, passionate, flexible and a self-starter.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to take direction.
- Ability to tell a story through a strategic presentation to key stakeholders.
- Expert level understanding of design tools and techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously within a deadline-driven environment.
- Experience in managing and motivating staff with the ability to communicate creative direction effectively.
- Proactive approach to identify and solve problems before they arise.
- A positive, can-do attitude with high level dedication and collaborative spirit.
The national pay range for this role is $100,000- $125,000 annually. The pay range may be slightly lower or higher based on the geographic location. The actual pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.
