The

Senior Designer

is a consultative and technical design resource and is responsible for project development, client coordination, and completion of design services by following the company’s standard design process and their extensive experience and judgement.

Essential Functions

Oversee design of entire project from start to finish.Works with project team and attends client meetings to gather programming requirements and overall scope of work.Ensure design intent is met throughout the life of the project.Provide questions and feedback actively during meetings to ensure the furniture appropriately fits within the overall project and schedule.Conduct initial site visits for evaluation of site conditions and design intent in conjunction with the PM.Communicate with the GC and manufacturers regularly to keep on task and on schedule during the design phase.Participates in manufacturer and in-house training sessions on a regular basisWorks with Jr. Designer to meet fast pace and large projects critical deadlines.Mentors Jr. Designer to support the professional growth of the Jr. Designer.Tasks

Researching product solutions for client needs.Creating presentations of solutions to further programming efforts.Developing initial typical ideas and product solutions.Help with finish selections and direction.Collect field measurements alongside the PM to ensure site conditions align with furniture details.Utilize CET as the main software for live design sessions with clients.Education & Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in interior design with 5 to 6 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience in the contract furniture industry.Experience designing for high-end commercial projects.Competencies

Proficiency in CET, CAD, Power Point, and Microsoft Suite.Ability to find accessories, art, and rugs that compliment and complete spaces being designed.Ability to act as the point of contact and own design aspects of projects from concept to installation.Ability to work effectively in a team environment.Strong client-facing and presentation skills.Effective problem solving, time management, and communication skills (oral and written).Must be organized, detailed oriented and self-motivated.Must be able to function in a high performance environment.Ability to be flexible and adaptable when needed.Proactive, "self-starter" approach.

Physical Demands

Working Conditions

General office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.
