ROLE SUMMARY

As an Associate Director of Brand Marketing, you will play a crucial role in shaping the market positioning and go-to-market strategy of our branded product portfolio in the cannabis industry. This senior-level position requires a visionary leader who can develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies across markets, that align with our business goals. You will be responsible for conducting in-depth market research, identifying emerging trends, and leveraging customer insights to drive product impactful stories that drive growth. Your ability to craft compelling value propositions and lead successful go-to-market efforts will be key in enhancing our competitive edge and expanding our market presence.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, sales, and retail, to ensure seamless product launches and consistent messaging across all channels. Your leadership will extend to mentoring junior marketing team members and managing external agencies to deliver impactful marketing initiatives. With a strong analytical mindset, you will monitor and optimize campaign performance, making data-driven decisions to achieve optimal results. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Product Positioning and Messaging:

Define and articulate clear value propositions and messaging at a portfolio level in partnership with Product Marketing team.

Ensure consistent and compelling product positioning across all marketing and sales materials.

Equip our sales teams for new releases by explaining what is new with the product and why it matters by providing internal cheat sheets, developing sales demo scripts, and creating presentations that demonstrate how the product makes a customer's life better.

Strategy Development:

Develop and implement strategic marketing plans for the product portfolio to achieve business objectives.

Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive threats.

Go-to-Market Execution:

Lead the development and execution of go-to-market strategies on the release of a product.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, sales, and retail, to ensure successful product launches.

Sales Enablement Collaboration:

Collaborate with sales enablement & sales content to ensure consistent and effective messaging adoption.

Work closely with the sales & retail teams to understand their needs and support their efforts.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Mentor and guide junior marketing team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

Bring best practices, templates, and experience to create consistency throughout the team.

Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new team members.

Supports the daily workflow of the marketing department.

Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations for all direct reports.

Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in marketing, Business Administration, or a related field; Experience can be substituted in lieu of a degree

5+ years of experience in product or portfolio marketing

Proven experience working in the Adult-Use and Medicinal cannabis markets.

Proven track record of successfully developing and executing marketing strategies that drive product growth.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data and make data-driven decisions.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and persuasively.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.

Experience with digital marketing tools and platforms, including CRM, marketing automation, and analytics software.

Leadership experience, with a track record of mentoring and developing team members.

Must successfully complete a comprehensive background check.

Must pass a drug screening

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a professional retail environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
