Job SummaryUnder the supervision of Assistant Director of Marketing, the Marketing Communications Specialist is primarily responsible for planning, developing and implementing the email and social media communication plans on behalf of the Robert and Margrit Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts. The Marketing Communications Specialist will create email campaigns that drive awareness, ticket sales and/or memberships; segment and pull lists from the database; and adhere to the brand guidelines of the organization. The incumbent will oversee a Mondavi Center social media content calendar, implementing social media strategy in support of organizational objectives, community management, and social media engagement, inclusive of conceptualizing, researching, writing, and editing content. The Communications Specialist will monitor trends and track social media and email performance, provide reporting, and make tactical adjustments, as necessary, to meet stated objectives. This position will also provide administrative support, as needed, and collaborate with UC Davis marketing student employees. Attend a selection of Mondavi Center performances, special events and other artist- and campus-related activities to capture social media content and represent the Mondavi Center Marketing Department.Apply By DateAugust 30th 2024QualificationsMinimum QualificationsFor full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license, certification and/or educational degree if required of the position.Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related field and/or 2 years of relevant experience.Experience using email marketing software, segmented list building, and knowledge of best practices for the design, implementation and measurement of effective email campaigns.Experience with social media marketing, inclusive of developing and executing social media strategies, staying current on best practices, and using social media scheduling and reporting tools and content calendars.Solid knowledge of marketing principles, concepts, strategies and best practices.Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.Ability to take initiative and work under the pressure of deadlines, managing numerous projects simultaneously with careful attention to details and deadlines.Solid written, verbal, interpersonal communications, active listening and political acumen skills to interact effectively with a culturally diverse workforce and constituency, including patrons, students, staff, faculty, donors, alumni and administrators.Preferred QualificationsExperience and knowledge of performing arts, including trends and performing artists in music, dance, and theater.Experience using project management and database software.Experience and knowledge of performing arts, including trends and performing artists in music, dance, and theater.Experience using project management and database software.Key Responsibilities35% - Email CommunicationsDesign and create email campaigns that drive awareness, ticket sales and/or memberships for Mondavi Center. Manage pre-show and post-show email program. Implement targeted email surveys, as needed. Work within the database to pull and segment lists needed for email campaigns. Adhere to Mondavi Center brand standards.25% - Social MediaOversee a Mondavi Center social media content calendar. Plan and implement social media strategy, including conceptualizing, writing, and editing content, developing social media campaigns in support of organizational objectives, community management, and social media engagement. Monitor, respond if necessary, and report on engagement and trends of Mondavi Center social media platforms. Develop tactics to grow and engage online audiences via major social media channels and work with Mondavi Center marketing staff and student employees to assist in achieving social media goals and objectives. Assist in keeping content updated on the Mondavi Center website.15% - Administrative and Other DutiesUtilize project management tools to assist in scheduling out tasks. Coordinate digital media assets and deliver to media partners. Maintain task list, archive jobs, and provide specific project updates, including timeline, progress, expenses and plans for follow up. Contribute to upkeep of the Marketing area, helping with other tasks as needed. Attend a selection of Mondavi Center performances, special events and other artist- and campus-related activities to capture social media content and represent the Mondavi Center Marketing Department.10% - MeasurementIn coordination with Assistant Director of Marketing and the Assistant Director of Business Intelligence, employ measurement and success metrics to benchmark efforts.
