IEEE DataPort Marketing and Sales Implementation Manager (E5786) - 240147 : KNW-C50Description Job SummaryThe IEEE DataPort Marketing and Sales Implementation Manager is responsible for two primary functional areas/projects:1) implement and project manage the marketing and communications strategy for IEEE DataPort; audience will be both the IEEE Community (society members, IEEE members) and external markets; and,2) develop and provide sales support for IEEE DataPort. This will include sales support for IEEE DataPort sales leads and supporting the IEEE DataPort Ambassador program which will engage IEEE volunteers; provide sales representatives and DataPort Ambassadors with IEEE DataPort knowledge/content and guide them to promote IEEE DataPort within their sales territory and/or regional sphere and/or to institutions who requested information on IEEE DataPort. This may also involve management of external sales resources.Key ResponsibilitiesImplement the marketing and sales support strategies for IEEE DataPort; develop and project manage action plans and timelines to support implementation.Develop and support new marketing and sales channels for IEEE DataPort – may include development and provision of conference content packages, IEEE DataPort metrics for sales representatives, IEEE DataPort Ambassador resources, and materials for IEEE DataPort advertising and partner programs.Develop and implement a targeted communications and sales support plan for academia and industry to effectively communicate IEEE DataPort capabilities and benefits.Develop and maintain relationships and regular touch points with IEEE sales representatives, IEEE volunteers and IEEE DataPort Ambassadors to help ensure IEEE DataPort is being promoted effectively.Manage the timely distribution of IEEE DataPort marketing and sales support information, including feature articles, social posts that can be propagated, IEEE DataPort flyers, sales presentations and instructional documentation.Support IEEE DataPort sales efforts through communication with sales representatives, potential customers and distribution of IEEE DataPort informational content when appropriate.Support IEEE DataPort professional image and promotion at primary IEEE conferences either through direct participation at the conferences and/or by providing materials and knowledge to others who will be representing IEEE DataPort at conferences.Offer guidance, consultation, and assistance to IEEE volunteers and DataPort Ambassadors regarding their marketing and communications of IEEE DataPort.Track and manage marketing and sales support budget as requested.Maintain metrics related to specific marketing and sales support efforts to evaluate their effectiveness.Maintain a cooperative and close working relationship with staff, sales representatives and the IEEE volunteers.Travel to special events and conferences as requested.Perform other duties as assigned.Additional ResponsibilitiesNo formal supervisory responsibilities but will work closely with IEEE staff, sales representatives, and multicultural IEEE volunteers around the globe. Must be able to coordinate and host meetings, manage work projects and be a strong team player to help drive results, meet timelines and deadlines.Qualifications EducationBachelor's degree or equivalent experience Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations or business administration. ReqMaster's or other advanced degree Master’s Degree is not required, but desired, with a focus on marketing or business development (e.g. MBA). PrefWork Experience4-7 years Prefer 2-4 years experience in marketing and sales support. PrefSkills and RequirementsExcellent verbal/written communications, project management skills, negotiation skills, teleconferencing and computer skills are required. Strong work ethic, exceptional people skills and organizational skills are also required.
