The class will be primarily supervisory in natureoverseeing the development and implementation of the City’s Disability Accessibility and UserExperience units, and performs related duties as required.This class is assigned to the Leadership Technology Job Family which consists of positionsresponsible for overseeing the identification, prioritization, and delivery of work activities, coachand developing employees, providing thought leadership to business partners, and shaping andexecuting the technology vision and strategy to maximize business values.**ESSENTIAL DUTIES**· Manages and directs the work of Digital Accessibility Specialists and UX Designers engaged inensuring that persons with disabilities can access the City of Chicago digital information andresources· Facilitates the design and development of engaging user experiences for avariety of applications, websites, and systems· Completes performance appraisals for subordinate staff, administers disciplinary functions, andapproves staff time off requests· Sets goals and objectives for team members for achievement of operational results· Assures the practices and process of implementing federal, state, and local disability legislationto ensure people with disabilities will have an equal opportunity to participate and benefit fromthe City’s web and digital content· Ensures policies, practices and procedures are understood and followed by direct reports,customers, and stakeholders· Studies and evaluates how users feel about a system, looking at things like ease of use,perception of the value of the system, utility, efficiency in performing tasks, etc.· Develops process flows, wireframes, and prototypes to effectively conceptualize andcommunicate high-level design strategies_Additional duties may be required for this position_**Location:** 2 N. LaSalle St., Chicago, IL**Days:** Monday-Friday**Hours:** 8:00am-4:00pm**THIS POSITION IS EXEMPT FROM THE CAREER SERVICE****Qualifications:****MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS****Education, Training, and Experience**Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree, plus four (4) yearsof work experience in user experience and digital accessibility design, development, andimplementation, or an equivalent combination or education, training, and experience.**SELECTION REQUIREMENTS**This position requires applicants to complete an interview.
