DescriptionThe Communications Specialist (CS) will assist in the production and distribution of electronic and printed external communications and training materials for the DMH + PMHP Public Mental Health Partnership (PMHP). You will be responsible for planning and working with the training team and designers to create information sheets, training handouts, external communications, and outreach materials for a variety of projects and coordinating their submission to the PMHP Media Director for edits and approval. Under the direction of the PMHP Media Director, the CS will also develop and monitor production timelines, coordinate delivery with vendors, track purchase orders and invoices, and monitor inventory of requested materials in coordination with PMHP administrative team. You will contribute content for external communications, social media posts, blogs, and newsletters, and prepare them for distribution. Other duties include providing technical support for content management of related websites and learning management platforms, assisting with the filming/post-production of events and seminars, preparing presentations and reports, overseeing the inventory and ordering of promotional materials, and curating content on related websites and online learning center.Content Creation for Training Materials (30%)+ Works with training team to develop training handouts and associated materials for training products+ Creates content for websites, learning management system, and external communications affiliated with the DMH + UCLA Public Mental Health Partnership+ Manages and maintains internal and external distribution lists and communication portals (e.g., newsletters, SendGrid, emails, social media, etc.)+ Works with the PMHP Media Director to identify newsworthy scientific research, and cultural stories and submit content for various media+ Develops copy and content for training handouts (electronic and print), event flyers, banners, presentations, website content, external communications, and online websites+ Assists in the cultivation of a consistent brand identity across programs+ Provides administrative assistance, including event logistics, ordering of materials, and managing invoices as assignedSocial Media and External Communications (30%)+ Work with the PMHP Media Director and training team to design and implement campaigns through SendGrid or similar email distribution programs, manage the design and distribution of external communications and newsletters+ Identify and/or create content for use on social media profiles.Website & Online Learning Center Content Management (20%)+ Update website and online learning center content in a timely manner+ Contribute new content as directed+ Work with the programming team to complete changes as directed+ Gather analytics from all PMHP social media and other accounts, including but not limited to, our website, learning management system, and SendGridTechnical Support (20%)+ Support the A/V logistics, filming and editing of campus and community-based presentations and seminars, creating video content to support websites and the online learning center both in-person and virtualPay Range: $72,200.00 - $15,800.00 annuallyQualifications+ BA or BS degree (Strongly preferred)+ B.S./B.A. in Communications, Film, Design, or related field (Preferred)+ Graphic design experience, such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, or other (Strongly preferred)+ Demonstrated knowledge of collaborative workgroup and reporting tools, such as Google Suite (Required)+ Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Required)+ Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, or similar editing software (Preferred)+ Familiarity with video and audio equipment and their setup (Preferred)+ Excellent written and spoken communication skills+ Skill in keeping accurate records+ Demonstrated attention to detail+ Demonstrated experience developing online and print content+ Skill in developing rapport with individuals from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds+ Knowledge of website and online learning center programming tools including, but not limited to, WordPress+ Demonstrated ability to manage print and production orders and invoices and interact with various vendors+ Demonstrated ability to use social media for external communications and other external communications systems, such as SendGrid+ Ability to operate personal computers (both PC and Mac)+ Ability to work effectively and closely as part of a team effort+ Demonstrated ability to conduct resourceful problem solving+ Ability to manage competing deadlines+ Must have the ability to be physically present at multiple sites.UCLA Health welcomes all individuals, without regard to race, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, national origin or disabilities, and we proudly look to each person’s unique achievements and experiences to further set us apart.
