About the Position: Technical Writer-Editor located in the AMCOM LOGISTICS CENTER, Acquisition and Sustainment Logistics Directorate Multiple vacancies may be filled from this vacancy. Responsibilities Review and interpret technical documentation and source data (i.e. engineering drawings, technical data package, engineering change proposals, etc.) to identify impacts to technical manuals. Manage development and/or creation of Technical Manuals (TMs), Technical Bulletins, Modification Work Orders (MWOs), and Depot Maintenance Work Requirements (DMWRs). Perform hands-on and deskside verification of technical manuals (TMs, Technical Bulletins, MWOs, and DMWRs). Serve as a Logistics focal point engaged in directing, developing, and/or implementing logistics policies, processes, initiatives and/or programs for major, highly complex weapon systems acquisitions in the areas of Logistics support. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes work that demonstrates writing and/or editing publications for one or more of the following: weapons systems, components, armaments or vehicle systems; participating in the Technical Manual verification of publications; and managing technical and equipment publications.. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Technical Competence Technical Documentation Writing Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
