About the Position: This position is located at the U.S. Army Materiel Command Logistics Data Analysis Center Life Cycle Support Division Technical Publications Branch, Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. Responsibilities Serve as a staff and action officer responsible for managing the Army Publishing Program Technical and Equipment Publications Program. Ensures critical actions are integrated and properly executed to provide timely, cohesive, and accurate logistics support to AMC Life Cycle Management Commands (LCMC), Program Executive Office (PEO) / Project Management Office (PMO), Serves as Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Interactive Authoring Display Software (IADS), XML, XML Schema's, DTD, XSL, and electronic publications for all commands developing technical publications. Responsible for providing the draft policy, objectives, directives, and Guidance in Technical Manuals Standards Specification on publication development, acquisition, and automation (Continues below) as it pertains to other functional areas/elements of the U.S. AMC Logistics Data Analysis Center (LDAC) and the overall AMC portion of the Department of the Army (DA) equipment publications program. Attends/chairs meetings, conferences, and briefings to establish lines of communications between appropriate government and industry groups and associations engaged in the development of TMs, ETMs, IETMs, and related new technologies. Briefs, lectures, and provides guidance and help to resolve problems related to the ETM/IETM program. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing duties that involved providing guidance and operation of automated web-based technical publications systems; providing guidance and direction for the development and implementation of an overall Technical Manuals (TM), Electronic TM (ETM), and Interactive ETM (IETM) program. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Decision Making Oral Communication Planning and Evaluating Technical Credibility Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
