We have already made a number of high profile breakthroughs towards building artificial general intelligence, and we have all the ingredients in place to make further significant progress over the coming year.The RoleWe’re looking for a curious and engaged Gen AI Senior Communications Manager to bring their abilities to bear in one of the most exciting and innovative organisations around today!Key responsibilities:+ Develop and drive Google DeepMind’s story, mind share, and thought leadership in AI product and research through proactive and integrated communications and storytelling campaigns.+ Work closely with key research, engineering, product, and executive stakeholders across our Gen AI and related research programs to identify and promote priority efforts. Collaborate effectively with stakeholders across the Google ecosystem.+ Maintain a high level of curiosity about the technical breakthroughs and milestones of Google DeepMind’s product and research efforts, and turn these achievements into compelling external stories that showcase AI’s potential to improve our lives.+ Build the public profile of our key product and research leads through consultation, coaching, and delivery of considered communications approaches.+ Translate complicated technology into compelling, understandable stories by developing supporting materials and assets for internal and external storytelling about our product and research efforts.+ Assess the community and industry landscape to identify insights that can inform our communications strategies.+ Build trusted and collaborative relationships with Google DeepMind researchers and senior executives, serving as a communications advisor.+ Develop cross-Alphabet relationships to collaborate across product areas on cross-company narratives.+ Partner closely with the corporate and executive communications teams to develop and deliver the team’s media engagement strategy, utilising your existing media relationships where needed.+ Handle and problem-solve reactive reputation and media-related issues.+ Play a key role in the smooth running of Google DeepMind’s press office function, and provide communications counsel to employees.About YouIn order to set you up for success as a Gen AI Communications Manager at Google DeepMind, we look for the following skills and experience:+ A background in technology and product communications; direct experience with AI technologies is preferred.+ Proactively-minded and able to work independently, but also contribute to wider working teams.+ Experience working in fast-paced environments.+ Previous in-house communications experience.+ An established network of relevant media contacts, and an awareness of the digital influencer landscape (with a particular focus on AI/innovation).+ Aptitude for planning and executing high-impact, integrated and scalable media campaigns.+ Experience working closely with executive leadership and their teams.+ Experience working across multiple functions including marketing, product and technical fields.+ Experience working across highly-matrixed organizations. Previous start-up experience is a plus.+ Passionately up-to-date on emerging and future trends in AI.+ Hands-on experience driving in-depth feature stories with top tier press.+ Strong writing skills and an ability to translate the complex into simple, clear and intuitive communications.The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $130,000 - $200,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.
