This position is an integral part of a collaborative team of field research coordinators and postdoctoral researchers tasked with developing and expanding initiatives supporting wild turkey, the Florida Wildlife Corridor, and related wildlife conservation efforts in Florida. Media audio/visual tools generated will be used across multiple programmatic initiatives to include delivery of wild turkey poult imprinting, radiotelemetry studies throughout the Florida Wildlife Corridor, and camera trapping and acoustic monitoring studies across Florida, as well as other ongoing wildlife research programs.This position is a time-limited position renewable annually based on satisfactory performance and funding availability.Driving is required to visit field sites for content collection. Responsibilities include organizing podcasting presenters, speakers, and invited guests to participate in Extension outreach programming efforts through podcasting and other recording formats. Plan, record, and develop acoustic and podcasting outreach audio tools that showcase wild turkey and UF DEER (Disturbance Ecology and Ecological Restoration) lab research initiatives. Collaborate with team members to develop short- and long-term content that effectively communicate scientific concepts and conservation practices. Facets include acoustic and podcasting recordings highlighting wild turkey and other associated species, showcasing multiple research projects across the Florida Wildlife Corridor and other wildlife field sites.Perform acoustic and podcasting development to create interesting, engaging and visually appealing audio/video compilations. Will provide secondary assistance to the videography and film social media producer. Products developed will be used to promote and expand wild turkey and related conservation efforts for dissemination through social media, and other online platforms. Incorporate emerging technologies and trends in digital media production of podcasting, audio/video editing, such as AI-driven editing tools and new audio, podcasting, and video platforms, to enhance content creation and distribution. Develop outreach products for dissemination, as well as website curation and development in support of research and outreach presentations and training modules. Ensure the correct formatting for finalized videos specific to distribution platforms. Procurement and maintenance of related websites.Manage, catalog and organize data curation and production files and audio/video libraries. Ensure content consistency with University of Florida branding requirements and the Wild Turkey Initiative mission statement and accessibility standards.Actively identify and participate in ongoing learning and professional development in the field of digital media. Other duties as assigned.Expected Salary:$55,000.00; commensurate with education and trainingMinimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree and two years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and appropriate experience.Preferred Qualifications:+ Experience in Film, Media Production, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.+ M.Sc. in related field or 1-2 years of experience in videography and editing, with a portfolio that demonstrates skills in producing educational content.+ Proficiency with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro).+ Deep understanding of digital trends and editing principles+ Understanding of color grading, audio mixing, and video output formats+ Ability to translate complex scientific information into compelling visual stories.+ Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.+ Experience in environmental or wildlife filmmaking and photography.+ Familiarity with special effects, 3D and compositing.+ Familiarity with audio editing software (e.g. Adobe Audition).+ Website development and curation.+ Interest and experience with wildlife research, conservation, and outdoor recreation.Special Instructions to Applicants:To be considered, please upload your cover letter, resume, and three professional references.
