Graphics SupervisorLocation: Albuquerque, NM, United StatesJob ID: 6088623Date Posted:Aug 7, 2024**JOB DESCRIPTION****Graphics Supervisor**Salary Grade: G07Minimum Midpoint Maximum$66,267 - $87,804 - $109,340This position is posted until filled.SUMMARY:Supervises critical processing operations of Graphics and Mailroom operations and ensures compliance with corporate, state, and federal mandates regarding internal and external marketing materials, mailings, training materials, shareholder publications and regulatory filing materials. Works with all levels of company personnel to determine resource requirements, schedules, calculates project production costs, postal and shipping requirements to meet target dates. Executes planned activities precisely in order to attain quality results within time and cost constraints.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:+ Evaluates, analyzes, recommends, and incorporates leading technologies into processes that meet department and corporate objectives for copy, print, and mail processing operations+ Works with outside venders for support and outsourcing of some Graphics, Mail Services+ Develops and streamlines processes, minimizes costs, and maximizes client support+ Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations+ Works with management/staff to develop and manage annual operating budgets+ Consults, advises, and obtains bid quotations for communication materials and corporate print products; assembles and tracks supporting data for auditing/accounting reference and vendor payment+ Acts as a liaison between external design firms and internal clients to advise on design and production alternatives to achieve cost efficiencies, improve quality, and/or comply with industry specific equipment and processes+ Administers the Fleet Printer Program, consults with venders, key individuals and management to determine need. Closely collaborates with BTS personnel to implement and troubleshoot Fleet Printers+ Works with and advises clients, vendors, and Supply Chain representatives on program initiatives regarding contract objectives and process enhancements+ Initiates training requirements and communicates process requirements to workforce to ensure compliance with policies and procedures+ Works with clients to coordinate production requirements for wide-format products and services+ Defines overall objectives for assigned projects including schedules and budget requirements; acts as a liaison with high volume internal/external clients regarding file preparationCOMPETENCIES:+ General knowledge in cost methodologies, inventory control, and procurement processes+ Ability to maintain corporate support levels technically through production control automation and advanced digital output solutions+ Ability to assess industry trends and capabilities for areas of responsibility to ensure an appropriate balance and placement of resources+ Extensive working knowledge of Graphics, Mailing and Shipping processes with the ability to articulate information from a variety of sources+ Advanced working knowledge of industry specific resources and applications+ Advanced industry knowledge and procurement practices+ Ability to prioritize, schedule, organize, focus on, and complete work+ Highly motivated team player with strong leadership skills+ Ability to make sound judgments and crucial decisions in short amounts of time+ Ability to maintain positive and productive working relationships with various individuals and groupsQUALIFICATIONSMINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:Bachelor's degree with five to seven years of related experience in customer service applications, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the discipline.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:Industry Certifications in USPS Executive Mail Center Manager's Program(EMCM), Office Services Professional, (OSP), Mailpiece Design Consultant(MDC), Color Theory, G7 Master Printer Certification, preferredSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:+ Supervises and coordinates the technical and professional personnel in the preparation and production of products and services.+ Develops performance standards related to overall business objectives.+ Appraises performance, rewards and disciplines employees, addresses complaints, and resolves problems.+ Fosters good working relationships with various groups.COMMUNICATION SKILLS:+ Ability to review, interpret, and articulate moderately complex information to managerial, technical, and non-technical individuals+ Advanced communication, listening, and observation skills+ Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals+ Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memosMATHEMATICAL SKILLS:+ Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimalsCOMPUTER SKILLS:+ Working knowledge of Graphics production, database, inventory, spreadsheet, and word processing softwareANALYSIS AND PROBLEM-SOLVING ABILITY:+ Ability to collect data, establish facts, and draw valid and concrete conclusions that can be acted upon.+ Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved, written and oral instructions. Ability to apply creativity to problem solving and utilize analytic skills and modeling capabilities to provide ongoing insight into the business and to make recommendations and decisions.DECISION MAKING:+ Broad range goals such as BPI, time tables, and budget caps are initiated at higher level; however, the incumbent has complete discretion as to the development and implementation of programs and processes that support Graphics and corporate business initiatives through its service offerings.SCOPE AND IMPACT:+ The Graphics operation has an annual operating budget of more than three million dollars, comprised of O&M and Clearing account operations. Problems experienced can range from minor to severe and result in high negative exposures for the company.+ Failure to meet critical deadlines, maintain revenue generating inventory, and/or comply with regulatory processes can further compound losses (revenue and productivity) and negatively position the company in the eyes of the public, PRC, and media.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:+ Ability to sit up to 2/3 of the time and to stand, walk, and stoop up to 1/3 of the time. Good vision and ability to adjust focus is required. Manual dexterity is required.
