**Job Summary*** This role is responsible for providing continuous leadership to multiple subordinate managers and individual contributors, and guiding them towards established vision and strategy by applying expert subject matter knowledge. The role takes charge of resource allocation, schedules, and costs for multiple ongoing projects, ensuring alignment with program and organizational roadmaps. The role collaborates with cross-functional teams to communicate program status, escalate issues, and influence strategic decision-making. The role drives improvements in engineering products and solutions, and identifies process enhancement and cost reduction opportunities.**Responsibilities*** Guides the team towards established vision and strategy for engineering solutions, across multiple areas and divisional boundaries.* Provides direct and ongoing leadership for multiple subordinate managers and individual contributors, designing engineering solutions and managing projects for products, systems, software, and solutions.* Manages headcount, deliverables, schedules, and costs for multiple ongoing projects and programs.* Ensures resources are appropriately allocated and goals, timelines, and budgets are met in accordance with program and organizational roadmaps.* Engages with program managers, marketing, supply chain, technical leaders and executives to communicate program status, escalate issues, and guide and influence strategic decision-making.* Coordinates with these cross-functional teams to drive improvement in engineering products and solutions against critical KPIs, identify opportunities for further process improvement and cost reductions, and recommends changes in alignment with business tactics and strategy.* Manages relationships with outsourced partners and suppliers, including setting expectations regarding deliverables, product quality, schedules, and costs.* Ensures team members are effectively communicating and collaborating with outsourced resources; supports commercial negotiations and establishment of terms related to services and projects.* Identifies opportunities for process improvement and cost reductions opportunities, and recommends changes in alignment with business tactics and strategy.* Applies expert subject matter knowledge, shapes knowledge base across businesses, functions, or regions, and provides strong leadership, driving change initiatives and monitoring performance goals.* Performs talent and people-care management responsibilities including recruitment, performance management, coaching and career development.* Ensures that proper knowledge, performance standards and career development tools are in place to support ongoing team member and process development.**Education & Experience** **Recommended*** Four-year or Graduate Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.* Typically has 10+ years of job-related experience or 8-10 years of management experience, preferably in engineering design, engineering design tools and software packages, or a related field.**Preferred Certifications*** Product Certification* Six Sigma Certification* Project Management Professional Certification**Knowledge & Skills*** Agile Methodology* Amazon Web Services* Angular (Web Framework)* Application Programming Interface (API)* Automation* CI/CD* Computer Science* DevOps* Java (Programming Language)* JavaScript (Programming Language)* Kubernetes* Machine Learning* Microservices* Python (Programming Language)* React.js* Scalability* Software Development* Software Development Life Cycle* Software Engineering* SQL (Programming Language)**Cross-Org Skills*** Customer Centricity* Prioritization* Resilience* Team Management* Strategic Thinking**Impact & Scope*** Impacts large functions and leads projects requiring knowledge of multiple disciplines or areas of HP.**Complexity*** Uses managerial concepts and company objectives to resolve highly complex issues in creative and effective ways. The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is **$123,950.00 -- $190,900.00** annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
