Technical Writer/ EditorJob Category: Engineering and Technical SupportTime Type: Full timeMinimum Clearance Required to Start: SecretEmployee Type: RegularPercentage of Travel Required: Up to 10%Type of Travel: Local* * *CACI is seeking a Technical Writer/ Editor for its team located in Albuquerque, NM**The Opportunity:**+ Coordinate technical manual development and improvement with technical experts; both local and remote.+ Revises or writes material that is mostly standardized for reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, instruction books, catalogs, and related technical and administrative publications concerned with work methods and procedures, and installation, operation, and maintenance of machinery and other equipment.+ Organizes material and completes writing assignments according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology, maintains records and files of work and revisions, selects photographs, drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts to illustrate material, assists in laying out material for publication, duplication and distribution of material.**Responsibilities:**+ Participate in documentation quality improvement efforts.+ Collaborate and share technical information with various technical, administrative, CAD, and logistics support groups within the facility.+ Receive assignment and technical information from a supervisor, may be provided notes or manuals containing operating procedures and details, and may observe production, developmental or experimental activities to expand or verify the provided operating procedures and details.+ Support the development of technical standards and methods for photographing, cataloging, using, and archiving unique DOD and common commercial equipment.+ Photograph equipment installations, maintenance, and ancillary equipment. Edit photos to ensure quality pictures are used in manuals, which includes enhancements, adding callouts, and working with line graphics.+ Review CAD drawings for part number information and updates required for inclusion in the documentation.+ Access manufacturers' catalogs, drawings, and other data relative to operation, maintenance, and service of equipment, may have access to blueprints, sketches, drawings, parts lists, specifications, mockups, and product samples to integrate and delineate technology, operating procedures, and production sequence and detail.+ Support the development of technical desktop publication and quality standards into company work instructions, style sheets, and style guides.+ Support the development of templates+ Communicate with the Technical Editor; work with the Editor to support backup editing functions with the technical writing staff as needed**Qualifications:**_Required:_+ An Active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI+ Bachelor’s degree with 7 years of Technical Writing experience preferred.+ Two or more of the following software: Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and /or CorelDraw, Adobe Pro, Microsoft Word, Autodesk Vault Viewer_Desired:_+ ​ Experience with NAVSEA and other Naval documentation requirements-**What You Can Expect:****A culture of integrity.**At CACI, we place character and innovation at the center of everything we do.
