SummaryThe Communications Strategist is responsible for creating and sustaining a Culture of Communication within Guthrie. This role provides leadership and supports execution of internal communications plans for corporate initiatives and caregiver engagement, collaborating with internal stakeholders to identify communications needs and opportunities, identify audience segments, refine key messages and develop comprehensive communications campaigns utilizing a comprehensive mix of print, audio, video and digital tools. This role will be responsible for developing Guthrie’s internal voice, investigating and implementing new tools for internal communications, and managing the organization’s overall internal communications strategy.This positions reports to the Sr. Director of Marketing & Communications.ExperienceMinimum of 5 years in internal communications, preferably in a health care setting. Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office products.EducationBachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or related field is required.Essential Functions+ Leads multi-faceted strategy for internal communications. Responsible for the successful integration of cross-channel strategies to ensure critical messages are shared effectively throughout the organization.+ Develops comprehensive communications campaigns that support the organization’s goals, culture and values. Identifies key audiences and personas, and the appropriate channels to reach them. Identifies and refines key messages.+ Develops and maintains a calendar of internal communications content that is timely and relevant.+ Serves as department’s communications contact for key internal stakeholder groups, including the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion committee, Human Resources and providers. Meets regularly with these groups to identify communications needs and opportunities.+ Serves as subject matter expert on communications strategies and tools, investigating and proposing new tactics and product offerings based on industry trends.+ Monitors caregiver use of internal communications tools to identify trends and opportunities to increase engagement.+ Develops and refines tools for measuring impact of internal communications. Tracks and reports on department goals related to internal communications.+ Ensures internal messages are clear, consistent and aligned with Guthrie’s goals, values and voice.+ Maintains regular feedback mechanism with caregivers to refine strategy and tools, and with leaders to support efforts to inform, educate and motivate their teams.+ As key member of crisis communications team, develops and distributes internal messages that provide critical information and clear direction for caregivers.Other Duties+ Willingness to perform and assume other job-related duties as assigned.Joining the Guthrie team allows you to become a part of a tradition of excellence in health care.
