*Job Duties:** Develop, implement, manage, coordinate, and oversee highway safety projects related to vulnerable road users (pedestrians, bicyclists, young and mature drivers)* Coordinate and implement federal, state, and local projects using federal funds* Review and analyze reimbursement vouchers and supporting documents from grant sub-recipients* Ensure compliance with federal/state/agency regulations, policies, and procedures* Identify problematic areas* Develop and track activities related to programmatic goals* Assess impact of individual projects and activities* Provide technical support* Work closely with other staff, state and federal agencies, localities, and non-profit organizations
*Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experience:** Effective oral and written communication* Leadership of project teams and working groups* Working knowledge of: • Organization management and operations • Research methods and techniques • Project management • Supervisory principles and practices • Basic bookkeeping/accounting principles* Accurate performance of detailed work with numerical data* Knowledge of federal grant process administrative and reporting requirements* Analysis of financial activity and documents* Creation and maintenance of spreadsheets and reports* Interpretation and application of federal and state regulations* Problem-solving and development of effective solutions* Establishment of effective working relationships with various stakeholders* Development and presentation of training* Proficiency in calculator and Microsoft Office applications* Knowledge of transportation safety issues (desirable)
*Organizational Objective: To promote transportation safety by:** Identifying highway safety issues* Developing and implementing effective integrated programs and initiatives* Reducing crashes, fatalities, and associated costs at local, regional, and statewide levels
*Purpose of Position:** Professional role focused on vulnerable road users' safety* Management of federal, state, and local projects using federal funds* Review and analysis of grant-related documents* Compliance assurance with regulations and policies* Problem identification and goal tracking* Impact assessment and technical support provision* Collaboration with various stakeholders
*Overall Job Summary:** Coordinate and implement safety projects for vulnerable road users* Manage federal funds for statewide, regional, and local safety initiatives* Review and analyze reimbursement vouchers and supporting documents* Ensure compliance with regulations and policies* Identify issues, track goals, and assess project impacts* Provide technical support and maintain stakeholder relationships
