Job Description

The SMM Strategist will work as part of our existing Social Media Marketing team to provide strategic social media services for our clients. The SMM Strategist will be responsible for researching, identifying and implementing emerging SMM trends and tactics.

This role will manage all aspects of day to day social media strategy for clients. As part of the Social Media Marketing Team, this individual will create new SMM campaigns, via Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, Google +, Pinterest, Instagram and any other related social media platforms in an effort to meet advertiser goals.

Focus areas will include social media monitoring, providing trending and analysis reports, planning and directing social media campaigns, and increasing website participation and engagement.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable in a client facing role, and possess strong written and verbal communication skills. This individual will be required to present strategic SMM implementation plans and reports to our clients, sales reps, and partners via conference calls. Candidate must possess organizational and time management skills as they may be responsible for the management of many Custom SMM & Social Advertising campaigns.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Develops social media campaign strategies.Contributes to setup and maintenance of all levels of SMM productBuilds and launches SMM campaigns via Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram and any other related social media platforms.Builds, launches and manages paid social media advertising campaigns.Publishes social media posts and blogs on behalf of a large client base.Performs quality assurance prior to launching campaigns to ensure accuracy of campaigns.Provides clients with insights into social media marketing trends specific to their industry.Creates and delivers monthly campaign reports.Performs campaign budget stewardship to ensure paid campaigns are managed efficiently and effectively.Monitors and implements new and emerging trends in SMM.Recommends and implements strategy to increase social media likes/followers and increase overall engagement.Performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

A BA/BS Degree preferred. A minimum of one year of experience in a professional environment. Experience with Social Media Marketing is preferred. Candidate must have strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent writing, copy editing and proofreading skills are required.

In accordance with applicable law, Hearst is required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role if hired in New York State. The reasonable estimate, if hired in New York State, is $35,800. A final decision on the successful candidate's starting salary will be based on a number of permissible, non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to skills and experience, training, certifications, and education.
