General Position Summary

Lids is looking for a Director of Visual Marketing who will be responsible for all aspects of visual merchandising (VM), print & digital production, and store/mall strategy and execution. This person will guide the strategy that directly impacts the customer experience in our retail stores and enhances brand awareness, drives traffic, and maximize profitability of the Lids banners of business. The Director of Visual Marketing will drive the many cross-functional phases of the VM process.

This role requires a blend of creative vision, strategic thinking, and leadership skills to ensure that the visual presentation in retail stores aligns with Lids' overall objectives.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

Create and evolve the Visual Merchandising strategy to maintain an inspiring customer experience in stores.Strategize and execute on in-store merchandising updates in partnership with the Merchandising and Brand Marketing teams along with sport seasonal priorities.Implement a standardized Floor set and Refresh process that aligns with company live dates by delivery.Work with creative team to print and implement window displays, window refreshes and in-store displays as aligned with merchandising updates and seasonal strategy.Collaborate with merchandising team on mannequin styling and storytelling.Collaborate with merchandising and planning teams on store assortments.Establish and maintain capacity counts and store tiering definitions for the Merchandising and Planning teams.Collaborate with mall marketing, digital, and print team leads to ensure cohesiveness across all marketing platforms.Elevate brand visual standards in existing stores and create materials to ensure uniform execution excellence across the fleet.Develop training to ensure that brand standards are being implemented; evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and update as necessary.Calendarize all VM activity in partnership with the Retail, Brand Marketing, and Merchandising teams.Manage signage program and oversee production of collateral.Participate in Regional / District weekly conference calls to drive planning, understanding and execution of upcoming VM updates.Collaborate with Field Operations, and store managers, marketing teams, and product designers to align visual merchandising efforts with store layouts, product launches, and promotional activities.Liaise with Store Managers, District Managers, and Director of Retail Stores to understand business results to shift VM strategy for the local business while still supporting overall strategy and vision.Support cross-functional partners such as Events, Popups, Marketing, Wholesale, Store Planning, and Merchandising with brand initiatives when needed.Design and manage pop-up and shop-in-shop installations to accompany capsule collections and launch events.Collaborate on store design process on new store buildouts including fixtures, signage, and displays.Assist with the development and sourcing of new visual merchandising display aides for new and existing retail stores.Create and maintain VM budget in partnership with VP of Retail.Negotiate with suppliers and vendors to secure competitive pricing on visual merchandising materials.Maintain the stock of visual merchandising aids including, mannequins, hands and necks, price cubes, hangers, materials, accessories etc.Job Required Knowledge & Skills

8+ years corporate visual merchandising experience in an apparel setting, preferably performance lifestyle and/or activewear.3+ years leading and building best in class teams in a high-growth environment.Strong visual eye for detail, style, color pallet and display composition.Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization.Ability to communicate effectively with teams remotely.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and quickly adapt to change.A "can do" attitude with a passion for challenging the status quo and bringing forth new ideas and processes.Excellent analytical skills with strong business acumen.Superior organizational and time management skills.Proficient in Google Workspace, MSO and Adobe Creative suites.Experience in coordinating and installing visual components; must be be able to use hand-and-power operated tools, climb a ladder, etc.Ability to lift 50 pounds including clothing, props, mannequins, etc.Ability to travel as needed supporting NSO's, events, regular store visits and other ad hoc needsReports To
