The Port of San Diego is currently recruiting for an Instructional Designer to join our Organizational Development and People Services team!

This individual will collaborate closely with key stakeholders throughout the organization to introduce new skills and competencies through personalized curriculum and creative learning materials. They will be responsible for providing research-based design consultation to all departments from ideation to implementation while focusing on innovative learning experiences to increase learning engagement.

They should have deep knowledge of adult learning theory and have expertise in instructional design tools (i.e. Articulate 360, Camtasia, Vyond etc.) and methods, in addition to experience in designing and developing Web-based instructional resources which incorporate graphics, audio, and video. They will assess current learning materials and approaches and make recommendations to help improve the learners experience and increase speed proficiency. They should have the ability to use data storytelling to effectively communicate insights from a dataset using narratives and visualizations. Additionally, they will facilitate and coach in either instructor-led workshops, seminars, or virtual sessions.In addition to the duties listed above, this role will be responsible for the following job duties listed in the section titled "Essential Duties and Responsibilities."#8#9#12Numbers 1 - 3 listed under "Other Duties"To be considered eligible for this position you must attach a copy of an E-learning sample that you have created. If you do not have an attachment, you may also provide a link to access it in your application.Minimum RequirementsEducation, Training and Experience:Graduation from a four-year college or university with major coursework in public or business administration, human resource management, psychology, organizational development or a related field.Experience:Five (5) years of increasingly responsible human resource management experience.Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements:A current, valid California Class C driver’s license may be required at time of appointment and, if required, be maintained at all times thereafter in order to operate a vehicle on Port business.
