The UX/UI team is responsible for user-friendly interfaces, performant technical UI implementation, content, branding, and much more across multiple Halo game titles. As an experienced Technical UI Designer on the team, you work closely with UX Designers and UI Artists to implement the creative vision and intended experience. You iterate based on feedback, performance, and subsequent UX/UI changes. You’re passionate about bringing experiences to life.You are a team player and obsessed with digging into the details – so that the implementation is sustainable and performant. You are flexible and can collaborate and contribute to overall technical implementation best practices and quickly switch gears to focus on the details. You work to create clarity when there is ambiguity. To you, no design task or detail is too trivial.The Technical UI Designer will be accountable for delivering best-in-class technical UI implementation in engine (from prototype to end-user experiences) and contribute to the overall efficacy in the design and technical UI process. The candidate has hands-on experience crafting large-scale digital products and interfaces, who sees design challenges as opportunities, has a demonstrated track record of craft and embraces a culture of growth mindset, mentorship, and coaching. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.**Responsibilities**+ Contribute to the vision and best practices of Halo's UX/UI/Tech Experience Design team+ Produce best-in-class, accessible, user-friendly interfaces in-engine that are catered towards players the world over+ Refine your implementation through iterative cycles that include testing and evaluation+ Collaborate with both internal and external partners to ensure technical UI excellence throughout the entire the gaming experience+ Communicate and present your design implementation and specifications to Designers, Producers, Engineers, Partners, and Management+ Other+ Embody our Culture (icrosoft.com/en-us/about/corporate-values) and Values (icrosoft.com/us/en/culture)**Qualifications****Required qualifications:**+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Graphic Design, Digital Arts, Technical Art, Game Design, or related field AND 3+ years technical art or industry-related design experience+ OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Graphic Design, Digital Arts, Technical Art, Game Design, or related field AND 2+ years technical art or industry-related design experience+ OR equivalent experience.+ 3+ years knowledge/experience working with game engines (e.g.Unreal)+ Experience with technical UI implementation for high quality entertainment products, websites, native applications, or software+ Experience with console/PC titles with at least one shipped AAA game**Other Requirements:**+ Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements is required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:+ Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.**Preferred qualifications:**+ Experience implementing UI motion and/or experience hooking into backend systems+ Passion for games a plus+ Previous experience with large, fiction-rich games or entertainment franchises+ You are comfortable working in an exciting, fast-paced, deadline-drivenTechnical Art IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
