The successful candidate will be collaborative, open, transparent, and team-oriented with a focus on team empowerment & shared responsibility, flexibility, continuous learning, and a culture of automation.**What You’ll get to Do:**+ Developing, editing, and maintaining documentation by implementing and coordinating program processes, establishing document reviews, preparing documents for approval, and publishing documents to meet contract requirements+ Authoring Technical Manuals (TMs) and other related technical documents (illustrated parts lists, wiring diagrams, etc.)+ Coordinate with engineers, customer representatives, subject matter experts, vendors, customers, and technical personnel+ Develop illustrations, graphics, and flow diagrams to support documentation+ Perform validation and verification of all technical changes+ Ensure budget and schedule compliance+ Generate software test plans, procedures, and reports, including researching software change logs and developing test procedures to validate functionality of software applications+ Develop workflows in Technical Publications SharePoint/Confluence areasThis position may be filled as Technical Writer Level 3 or a Technical Writer Level 4.**Basic Qualifications for Level 3:**+ Bachelor’s Degree with 6 years’ experience or Master's Degree with 4 years’ experience. Additional 4 years’ experience may be accepted in lieu of a Degree+ Proven technical writing experience in a technology-driven program or project supporting the U.S. Navy+ Experience in Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) development standards, best practices, and protocols+ Experience in S1000D, Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML), Extensible Markup Language (XML), and programming scripts+ Experience with S1000D requirements+ Knowledge of and experience writing to military standard requirements (MIL-STD-38784, etc.)+ Proficient in Strategic Systems Programs instructions and maintenance manuals+ US Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain Secret Security Clearance**Basic Qualifications for Level 4:**+ Bachelor’s Degree with 10 years’ experience or Master's Degree with 8 years' experience. Additional 4 years’ experience may be accepted in lieu of a Degree+ Proven technical writing experience in a technology-driven program or project supporting the U.S. Navy+ Experience in Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) development standards, best practices, and protocols+ Experience in S1000D, Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML), Extensible Markup Language (XML), and programming scripts+ Experience with S1000D requirements+ Knowledge of and experience writing to military standard requirements (MIL-STD-38784, etc.)+ Proficient in Strategic Systems Programs instructions and maintenance manuals+ US Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain Secret Security Clearance**Preferred Qualifications:**+ Experience with electrical schematics, diagrams, and illustrated part breakdowns from compiled engineering technical reports, drawings, and parts lists.+ Advanced knowledge of Arbortext Editor.+ Extensive configuration management skills.+ Familiarity with updating encapsulated postscript (eps) vector graphics and computer graphic metafiles (cgm).**Salary Range:** $69,600 - $104,400**Salary Range 2:** $86,300 - $129,500The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
