The Contracts Specialist, Music Business & Legal Affairs will support the VP, Music Business & Legal Affairs and other attorneys, as well as licensing, publishing and creative staff in the department. The position may be based in Universal City, California or New York, New York.Job Duties+ Under supervision of a senior attorney, negotiate, draft, review and interpret an extensive range of agreements, including but not limited to: composer, recording talent and producer, soundtrack distribution, and license agreements+ Assist with research: creating deal summaries, as well as maintaining and otherwise administering day-to-day contractual and operational matters, including:+ Data entry+ Preparation of letters and memoranda to internal and external clients+ Presentations to senior-level management+ Provide general advice and support to the business+ Generally support the other attorneys and professionals in the department+ Other duties as assignedBasic Requirements+ Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of experience in a professional role requiring strong analytic and organizational skills and careful attention to detail; OR a J.D. from an accredited law school+ Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications, including: Outlook Calendar, Contacts, Word, PowerPoint and ExcelDesired Characteristics+ Superior communication, interpersonal, drafting, analytical and organizational skills+ Excellent written and verbal skills+ Ability to respond quickly and effectively to client concerns, questions and issues+ High level of integrity and discretion+ Ability to juggle multiple projects and tasks+ Ability to work with a large and dispersed team of many different backgrounds+ Excellent client service and interpersonal skills+ Ability to exercise proper judgment in assessing priorities+ Resourceful, proactive, assertive, detail-oriented and energetic+ Self-starter with high level of motivation, and ability to work independently+ Ability to adapt to changing responsibilities and multiple assignments+ Excellent organizational, time management, and follow up skills+ Ability to work well under pressure, and with tight time constraints+ Proven ability to make effective decisions and solve problemsAdditional Requirements+ Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA or New York, NY+ This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week+ This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
