DescriptionThe Sr. Design Program Manager for Design Quality will be part of DDG’s Design Strategy, Systems & Operations organization within the Devices & Services Design Group. This role will report into our Sr. Manager of Design Quality, and partner very closely with our Design Program Management and Design Systems team, as well as the Design leaders across Devices & Services to define, operationalize and scale the quality bar across DDG’s major design functions (interaction design, expressions design, research, operations).This role will be responsible for working with cross organization partners and stakeholders to define various aspects of how Design Quality. In order to be successful, this person will need to bring along cross organization stakeholders to gain their buy-in and support for this program. The ideal candidate will exhibit leadership, high judgment, the ability to influence, and exceptional organization and communication skills.In this role, you will collaborate closely with designers, researchers, engineers, product managers, and other cross functional partners through the definition, rollout and execution of Design Quality mechanisms. You will combine expert program management skills with a passion for user experience to help teams across Devices and Services improve the designs of Amazon’s products and services. You will need to manage communications across levels and organizations within Amazon to train teams on how the mechanisms work, communicate reporting on the impact the mechanisms and manage escalations when design is at risk.Key job responsibilities- Define, deploy, and manage operations of new cross organization design quality mechanisms.- Working across leadership to align on a single strategy and measurement for the mechanisms.- Drive operations including: strategic planning, team member training and knowledge share, workflow and processes, and collaboration approaches.- Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, in the creation and management of mechanisms.- Implement repeatable processes and tools to help us scale, prioritize, plan and manage mechanisms across design teams.- Create, maintain, and disseminate information and reporting to stakeholders and senior management.- Work across teams to create strong relationships with stakeholders and senior leadership teams across Amazon Devices and Services.- Promote a sense of transparency, visibility, and community among all stakeholders.About the teamThe Amazon Devices and Services Design Group (DDG) is a multidisciplinary design team that is responsible for the UX of Echo Family Devices, Alexa Mobile, Fire TV, Fire Tablets and more. The base pay for this position ranges from $116,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $192,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
