Precipart, located in Farmingdale, NY, is looking for a Material Expeditor to join our Logistics team. The Materials Expeditor ensures the timely and accurate flow of parts throughout the campus. This entry level role includes facilitating the movement of parts from operation to operation, ensuring flow of parts and maintaining the accuracy of shop packets and inventory.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS+ Coordinate with Planning and manage partial movement of parts to next department, as needed.+ Monitor database for completion of operations to initiate parts movement for critical/priority parts.+ Maintain reports that capture database discrepancies and work with department supervisors to make corrections.+ Conduct regular "bus route" tours of the campus, using visual cues to initiate parts movement.+ Ensure checks and balance of quantities and work center accuracy between the database and the shop packet.+ Confirm sign-off of the shop packet from the prior operation, and secure all necessary approvals+ Manage the inventory of WIP (Work in Progress) on hold, including moving parts out of hold when needed and placing slow-moving inventory on hold.
