Requests for flexibility will be considered consistent with Harvard University flexwork policies.+ The work associated with this position is performed in a library/office setting.+ At times may work in basements, attics, warehouses, and other records storage areas.+ May interact with collections that may contain dust, mold, or other contaminants.Job Summary:Although this position will remain posted until filled, applicants are strongly encouraged to apply by end of day on Tuesday, September 3 2024.Reporting to the Senior Time-based Media Conservator in Media Preservation Services of the Harvard Library, the Film Conservator is responsible for the processing, inspection and preliminary cataloging of new acquisitions and the preparation of outgoing films for the Harvard Film Archive (HFA) and other Harvard Library repositories. Assists in the planning and execution of collection-wide preservation projects for audiovisual materials. Prepares materials and performs archival film scanning.
