Submit both a cover letter and resume as one file (because of system limitations).**What You'll Do**The Center for Academic Innovation (CAI) at the University of Michigan (U-M) is looking for a qualified Media Asset Manager to help improve both daily digital asset operations and implement strategic storage and retrieval systems for CAI?s online learning portfolio, XR programs, and digital asset archives. As the Media Asset Manager, you will administer several mission-critical system ?including a media asset management system and an asset archiving and digital tape back-up system?and will function as the unit?s librarian, creating documentation and procedures to increase efficiency of data infrastructure. You will work with Media Technology, Media Design, and XR teams (all under the Creative Studios domain) in the creation and refinement of custom processes, applications, and software. You will be a main contact for several campus-wide enterprise solutions, and will be a technical expert who enables CAI to manage the evolving future of media production and data management. Our team helps faculty through the production process so they can focus on what they do best: delivering life-changing education to millions of learners around the world.For more information, please visit our website:Academic Innovation (mich.edu/)**Responsibilities***+ Implement, upgrade and maintain the software, hardware, and processes necessary tosupport the daily operation of CAI's Media Asset Management systems, equipment, andprocesses+ Collaborate on custom media asset workflows that use purpose-built softwareapplications to increase productivity through process automation+ Ensure security and availability of all CAI storage, back-up, and retrieval systems+ Develop sustainable digital asset archiving and backup solutions+ Ensure the continued operation and reliability of LTO Tape Systems and related software+ Integrate existing University enterprise solutions/systems and other complimentarysoftware into CAI processes where beneficial, such as the integration of the newUniversity Digital Asset Management System (Acquia DAM)+ Work with Media Technology and Media Design Teams to integrate commercial softwarewith custom developed software applications for improving the efficiency, accuracy, andreliability of CAI Media Production and Asset Management processes+ Work with Media Technology and Media Design Teams to ensure team-wide use andadoption of mission-critical workflows, and data storage and retrieval processes+ Remain current with industry best practices and up to date on technology trends to readyCAI's asset systems for future needs and challenges**Required Qualifications***+ Bachelor's degree in Business Systems Administration, Computer Science,Broadcasting or Media, Library and Information Sciences, or related field and 4 years ofprofessional experience+ Experience with media asset management (MAM) and digital asset management (DAM)systems+ Experience with tape backup systems+ Experience with API integration+ Demonstrated organizational, analytical, and process-oriented abilities+ Commitment to problem solving, teamwork, and the ability to act independently+ Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences and work well in a multiculturaland collaborative environment+ Ability to manage relationships with multiple partners from a collaborative mindset+ Working knowledge of networked storage and backup/archive systems processes+ Experience supporting in complex media production environments+ Strong organizational skills and attention to detail+ Excellent critical thinking and adaptability skills within a rapidly changing mediaenvironment+ Positive attitude and collaborative mindset**Additional Information**+ Please Note: This is a 5-year term-limited position with the possibility of renewal depending on funding.+ Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.+ This is not a remote position and any adjustments to a standard in-person schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.+ Excellent benefits are available. For details, see: mich.edu/**Salary Information**The general salary range for this position is $80,000 - $87,000. You can expect to be paid a great compensation package. Factors used to determine salary include experience for the position and internal equity within the unit.
