The tutor will provide support during the Fall 2023 Semester with possible continuation based on tutoring effectiveness, demand, and funding availability. A combination of scheduled and walk-in sessions on campus and via Penn State Fayette’s Online Writing Lab, approximately 5-7 hours/week, is expected.Job Duties+ The tutor will report to the campus Student Success Specialist, provide individual and/or group tutoring sessions, and document sessions.+ The tutor will meet with the supervisor and instructors as needed to plan appropriate academic support for students and perform other duties consistent with the position of Professional Tutor, possibly including workshops and class visits.+ The tutor will integrate effective study and learning strategies to maximize the student’s potential for academic progress and to promote independent learning (including referrals to other appropriate college resources as needed).Requirements and Qualifications+ The Professional Tutor must demonstrate an ability to quickly establish rapport and communicate well with students and instructors.+ Qualified individuals will hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in English or a related subject area.+ A minimum of a master’s degree in the subject area or a closely related field is preferred along with tutoring and/or teaching experience at the college level.Review will begin immediately, and the search will continue until suitable candidates are found.
